Coram Flies The Flag for UK Design

At this year's KBB show, Coram Shower Pods exhibited its high performance pod sporting a striking Union Jack design, to highlight how the company's latest generation of designs have been specifically developed to meet the needs of the UK market.

The Union Jack pod, as with the entire Coram Shower Pods' range, was manufactured in the UK and has been designed to suit British site requirements, particularly in terms of ease of installation and watertight performance. Peter Dimeloe, managing director of Coram Shower Pods explained: ‘As the UK construction industry is under pressure to adhere to strict timescales and complete projects more efficiently, we have created a product that can be installed quickly and simply at any time during the build process.

‘Each Coram Shower Pods' design is manufactured in sections of glass reinforced polymer (GRP), which can be easily manoeuvred up stairwells and through doors, and simply slotted together to create a robust showering space. As our pod negates the need for sealant or tiling, each design can be fitted by one tradesperson, in a single operation, in about an hour.’

In addition, the Coram Shower Pods' range has been designed to address watertightness, which is a unique issue within the UK market. Peter Dimeloe added:

‘More often than not, British bathroom floors are constructed using timber and covered with lino or carpet, making them particularly vulnerable to damage caused by leaks. With this in mind, Coram Shower Pods' designs incorporate innovative features, such as a patented 'Waterguard' at the base of the pod, which ensure complete leak-free operation. Confident in the performance of these design features, the company offers a watertight lifetime guarantee with all of its shower pods.’

The Union Jack shower pod design was created especially for the KBB show. Coram Shower Pods are available in white as standard, however the company can manufacture the pod in virtually any colour.

In addition to revealing its Union Jack shower pod at the show, Coram launched the Acora Continental Collection, a new selection of retail enclosures and wet room panels. Designs in the Acora Continental Collection have been created using Coram's patented design concept, Floating Glass Architecture, an innovative method of construction, whereby the glass appears to float from the minimalist frame.
