Illuminating the Way to Safety with JCC Lighting

Picture the scene: you’re at home with your feet up in front of the television.  It’s dark outside and the children have just gone to bed. Suddenly the circuit breaker trips, the lights go out and you can’t find the torch or candles.  It’s this particular scenario that has led JCC to develop a new 2W LED non-maintained luminaire. 

An industry first and new to the market, this 2W LED has been developed in association with Mackwell Electronics, a market leader in emergency lighting. Key benefits of the product include a three hour operation and high intensity LED which clearly illuminates areas of the home to assist a safe exit.  It’s very easy to install and can be located on a stairwell or hallway area.  And as its part of the Fireguard range it is fully fire rated and matches other luminaires to provide a consistent appearance. 

Recent revisions to the IEE wiring regulations (17th edition) include the introduction of RCD protected lighting circuits in the home.  While this revision is designed with safety in mind, it may give rise to increased nuisance tripping; this is where JCC’s 2W LED can provide back-up illumination, allowing the home owner to safely reset the RCD.

All the benefits of Fireguard
All Fireguard products are fully tested on 30, 60 and 90 minute ceilings, as well as on 30 and 60 minute I-joists.  It uses an innovative intumescent material that expands in the event of a fire to seal the ventilation holes and close up any gaps, therefore maintaining the integrity of the ceiling.

The 2W LED non-maintained  luminaire is available now, along with nine other new products in the Fireguard range, including shower lights, dropped glass, anti-glare and square tilt designs, providing a more decorative appeal to domestic installations.
