Rosecourt
Moves Forward with Homag
Started
just over nine months ago by Len Iisak and his partners, Rosecourt Furniture
has made rapid progress supplying quality designs to the kitchen and bedroom
sectors as well as the burgeoning home office/study market.
Originally
the companys modern Wigan workshops were equipped with second hand
classical machinery but demand for Rosecourts products and services
grew so fast that Len knew he was going to have to radically upgrade his
production facility.
With well over 25 years of experience in cabinet furniture production,
Len relied on one of his oldest and most trusted contacts in machinery
supply - Jim Cox who is now one of Homag's most successful area sales
managers in the north west of England.
Jim was able to evaluate Rosecourt's position and requirements astutely
and, in May last year, called Len from the Homag stand at Ligna in Hanover
and told him that exactly the machine to suit Rosecourt had just been
launched at the show. It was the high specification, entry level Weeke
Venture 0.5 CNC machining centre.
I knew all about Homag engineering and quality, explains Len,
and in Jim Cox I had a person in whose professionalism and technical
knowledge I could trust implicitly.
Rosecourt
ordered the Weeke sight unseen and it was installed four weeks after the
exhibition. Following which, again with the assistance of Jim Cox, Homag
UK delivered a Brandt KDN210 compact single-sided edgebander with a 3mm
capability.
The Weeke Venture 0.5 is a new machine following the Homag Group policy
of making the highest level of technology available to the widest possible
entry level base. This machine puts Rosecourt immediately on a seriously
competitive footing with bigger competitors - as does the very high specification
Brandt KDN210 edgebander which is also an affordable entry level machine.
Because we operate a totally bespoke service both to retailers,
private customers and the trade, the flexibility of the Weeke Venture
machines was absolutely essential and has transformed our production capability
and our capacity problems, explains Len.
Len attended a 2-day training course on the Woodwop operating software
for the machine at Homag UK's Castle Donington headquarters. This
software is amazing he says, so easy to use and so flexible.
Likewise the finish, quality and speed that Rosecourt is achieving with
the Brandt KDN210 with totally automatic in-line unit setting, is crucial
in maintaining the companys reputation for exceptional quality.
When we found ourselves in a position to buy new machinery we took
it straight away, says Len. With a worldwide group of Homag's
experience we knew we didn't need to look anywhere else and the added
bonus of the companys superb engineering and back-up service here
in the UK made our decision even easier.
With growth some 30 - 35% higher than originally forecast Rosecourt is
now well equipped to deliver a quality product and service to an ever
widening range of customers.
