Stylish New Mermaid Panels on Show at KBB

The bi-annual highlight of the kitchen and bathroom industry is less than a month away. KBB 2008 takes place between 2nd and 5th March at Birmingham's NEC and Norske Interiors UK Ltd will officially unveil its updated Mermaid colour collection at the four day event. New promotional materials for its dealers are being prepared and will be presented at the exhibition.

The ultimate waterproof wall panels system is available in a comprehensive range of colours and textures. The new design ideas were exhibited earlier this year and - following useful feedback - they were put into production. The order book is already filling up and sales are expected to increase further when the new product brochure and website are launched early 2008.

The decorative waterproof panels - which incorporate Click-Seal profiles - have a ten-year watertight guarantee, are resistant to condensation and mould penetration, and do not chip, flake or peel. The current collections (Tropical, Coastal and Metropolitan) consist of 42 colours/finishes. Out of date colours are being phased out in order to make way for the new additions.

The design of Firecoat and Nebula provide two new options and complement a number of existing decors from these ranges.

Contemporary, Pixels are now available in Bronze, Pearl and Silver. They have a glimmering effect, which is achieved by an innovative surface structure.

Fashionable Metallics push the boundaries of modern design. Available in Concrete, Copper and Ferrite, they are suitable for home owners with an eye for design-led finishes.

Finally, the new Mist panels comprise graduated blocks of colour achieved by digital print techniques. The large format 1200mm wide panels can be cut as desired allowing customers to create their own colour effect.

‘Mermaid is widely recognised as the brand leader in the waterproof wall panelling market. The substrate of the panels is 9mm water-resistant WBP plywood, to which the decorative high pressure laminate is bonded. This results in a 100% waterproof surface,’ says David Beach, General Manager of Mermaid.

The product is available in three sizes: 2400mm x 600mm, 2400mm x 900mm and 2400 x 1200mm. The materials used in the construction of the wall panels means that normal woodworking tools can be used when installing. This makes them easy to cut and drill when fixing mirrors or other bathroom fittings.

‘We have been preparing the new collection for some time and have now made the final adjustments to the range,’ explains David Beach. ‘Deciding on new designs is a lengthy process, but we are delighted with the final result.

‘We are hoping for positive feedback at KBB and are looking forward to showing visitors what we have been working so hard to achieve. It will be our biggest stand ever at the event and the new colours will have pride of place.’
