Republic Launches Twelve New Stone Stories For 2008
Hall 19, Stand ET108
Stone Republic, a UK-based
worldwide supplier of stone and marble, is launching twelve new marble
and travertine stones from some of the world's finest quarries at KBB,
Birmingham NEC on March 2-5, 2008.
The
collection will include La Crema, a very light marble in the beige range
and Le Café, a darker marble from a neighbouring quarry. Together
they create a 'cappuccino mood' and both are available in a range of finishes,
including washbasins and mosaics.
Also being introduced at KBB is Tivoli White, the lightest and whitest
travertine to be discovered by Stone Republic. The company will also launch
two exclusive stones - Terra Nova, which is stronger than a classic travertine
and Terra Nostra, a lighter yet stronger stone than the Noche travertine
range.
The company will also be launching its own formula sealant - 'One For
All' - at the show. This effective water-based stone sealant has virtually
no odour, making it healthier and more pleasant to use than traditional
solvent-based Solutions.
Stone Republic's managing director, Mustafa Emre, known locally in Sussex
as 'The Stone Man', has a passion for stone and an exemplary knowledge,
honed through many years of research with quarry owners and stone craftsmen.
The company sources all its stone supplies from carefully vetted
quarries in Italy, Egypt, Turkey and a number of other countries with
sustainable sources.
Emre is not just a supplier of fine quality stone, but an expert in the
different qualities and behaviours of the material. He explains: With
thousands of different varieties of stone and marble available, it's important
and exciting for architects and designers to understand how each type
behaves under different conditions, be it heat, rain, cold or engineering
stress. These products are extremely durable and tactile. This is what
is so exciting about stone. It's been lying in the earth for millions
of years and yet we have this fantastic ability to give it new life.
Talking about stone trends for 2008, Emre comments: Last year the
residential market was marked by a move away from cheap laminates and
fixtures back to wool carpets and solid wood features. In turn, stone
and marble have also been rediscovered. I think concerns about fixatives,
chemicals and allergens in the home have encouraged people towards longer-life
natural materials. On the retail, hotel and commercial side, particularly
in design led areas such as Sussex, Manchester, Liverpool and London,
the desire for quality has never gone away, although the demand for unique
colours and textures has certainly grown.
Sharing the same stand will be You Wood (http://www.youwood.co.uk),
supplier of high quality, sustainably sourced, solid oak wooden flooring.
The company will showcase its range of designer kitchen cabinets in natural,
white wash and dark stain finishes. You Wood also designs and produces
solid oak bathroom furniture such as cabinets, wash stands and mirror
frames.
The KBB exhibition will take place at the NEC, Birmingham on 2-5 March.
The exhibition will be open from 09:00 am until 18:00 pm Sunday to Tuesday
and Wednesday 5th from 09:00 am until 17:00 pm.
