Why
CARAT?
Why should I change my software
package? This is a perfectly reasonable question that I am often asked
by retailers when I first introduce CARAT to them, explains Joe
Flood, Managing Director of CARAT Software Ltd; many
potential clients are already using a different brand of software, some
for many years, and do not see a necessity to consider changing to a different
system, which is understandable. However, once they realise that CARAT
is a complete design solution they are often tempted to switch providers.
The
USP to the CARAT system is the fact that it uses AutoCAD logic with windows
know-how. Which means people with even the most basic knowledge of windows
will be instantly familiar with the operational controls of the programme.
Therefore, there is no time wasted learning the meaning of each different
character, it's basically just a good, straightforward format.
Secondly, CARAT is unique in that it can display four windows simultaneously.
The floor plan, the colour perspective, the quotation and the 3D article,
everything can be viewed as the design progresses. Ultimately, when using
CARAT Software kitchen and bathroom proprietors and designers enter into
a win, win situation. Designers can concentrate on the actual plan and
not have to worry about pricing as it is taken care of and can be viewed
alongside the kitchen plan.
Proprietors can be safe in the knowledge that costly pricing errors have
been eradicated and that their company can produce a quotation in real
time. This can equate to an increase in productivity and sales. A standard
feature that we believe will become invaluable to the smaller retailer
is a multi-media attachment. Accessories within a kitchen that may not
be displayed in the showroom can be viewed via a multi-media facility
where a video demonstration of features such as a magic corner, or a 90°
pullout larder can be played back to the client as they are contemplating
their requirements.
When reviewing conversations we have had with potential clients
we realised the only way to truly sell our product was to offer a free
one month trial. At the beginning of the trial CARAT provides a three
hour comprehensive training session which enables the participants to
fully interact with the software and recognise the benefits of such an
innovative software system.
The next question is how much? Costs are based on a rental system,
which is also favourable for tax purposes. There are no hidden costs and
no hardware keys; therefore there is no initial outlay. A monthly (billed
quarterly) charge is incurred with an option of single/multi-user licenses
allowing flexible financial packages. The last question is generally where
I sign!
