REHAU
Launches 'Glass' Edgebands
REHAU has introduced a new
range of edgebands which have the look and feel of genuine glass. RAUKANTEX
Vision has been developed in response to the trend towards using glass
in kitchen and living room furniture design and provides manufacturers
with a practical and cost effective new design option.

RAUKANTEX
Vision overcomes the difficulties associated with processing real glass
by using polymer materials to produce a range of edgeband finishes which
simulate translucent, transparent, frosted and sandblasted effects.
REHAU's technical expertise in polymer has enabled it to deliver ex-stock
options in both PP and PMMA material which can be processed using existing
machinery and which have the same surface properties and resistance to
stress cracking as conventional polymer edgebands.

The
new range encompasses frosted glass designs in PP with a translucent appearance,
sandblasted or high gloss transparent designs in PMMA, and two step designs
which combine frosted glass with an aluminium or stainless effect or a
choice of eight background colours.
Allison Tucker, REHAU's Business Team Manager, says: RAUKANTEX Vision
has been added to our premium range to give designers and manufacturers
the opportunity to create something special in glass. We expect it to
have the biggest impact in the kitchen sector but also to find other commercial
applications in furniture and shopfitting installations.
