Elica is the Top All-Italian Company in the Top 50 ‘Best Places to Work in Europe’

Elica, in terms of company climate, is one of the best companies in Europe.

After the recognition awarded by the Best Workplace in Italy 2008 jury in the Italian classification of Great Place to Work, where Elica came in fourth - the top Italian company, after the multinationals Google, Coca Cola and Microsoft - the Fabriano company, world specialist in the production of cooker hoods, has also been placed amongst the top 50 big companies in Europe as regards quality of working environment.

The names of the first hundred companies, subdivided into Large, Small and Medium - with a total of 1,200 taking part in the selection process - were given out in London during the ceremony for Best Workplaces in Europe 2008, which took place at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
Elica was placed in 39th position - the only company founded in Italy on the chart, which also includes the Italian branches of well-known multinationals.

And Elica has its own employees to thank for its success in this prestigious chart, through their answers to sample questionnaires distributed throughout the company according to a carefully calibrated percentage of personnel in the various categories of work.

Elica, head company of an industrial group that employs around 2,300 people and which has been listed in the STAR segment of the stock market since November 2006, has been carrying out a rapid process of internationalisation over the past few years, opening production sites in Poland and Mexico.

The evolution of the group has been accompanied by a series of initiatives aimed at personnel and improving the company climate, conceived with the specific objective of responding to the dynamics of expansion.

Different types of investment have been made in various areas: investment in youth, through study grants and educational trips abroad for the children of employees; in the workplace, altered and renovated along the lines of a logic that favours communication, information exchange and the responsible handling of time; in employees and management, through training courses developed to encourage a correct approach to change, to be seen as a stimulus and opportunity for growth.

‘This result makes me feel really proud’ commented Andrea Sasso, the Elica Group's Managing Director. ‘It demonstrates that the work we are carrying out with people is going in exactly the right direction and that everyone is working together with us in a way that's wide-ranging and all-inclusive. I can only express my heartfelt thank to everyone who works here.’

‘This is a recognition that sums up the company spirit’, said the Elica Group's Human Resources director Marco Scippa. ‘Elica has a long history of looking after its employees, indeed it's a central part of the philosophy of the family that founded the company, and in the last two years it has also received a boost from the development strategy. It all goes to show that it's not systems and processes that make the difference, but the people.’

And, as the carefully detailed survey carried out by the highly-qualified international organisation Great Place to Work Institute has confirmed, it's the Elica employees themselves who have been the first to recognise the company's commitment to their well-being.
