Huge
Demand for Thug-Proof Toilets
Demand
for vandal-resistant toilets is rising so fast that Wallgate, the sanitaryware
specialist, has created 20 new jobs at the companys Wiltshire plant
after agreeing a £300,000 deal for the supply of new casting machinery.
The deal will enable the company to increase capacity by 75%. Wallgate
is the leading manufacturer of vandal-resistant sanitaryware in local
government, prisons, schools and other high-risk establishments. The company
is best known for its range of hole-in-the-wall handwasher/drier units,
commonly seen in schools and public toilets.
For the last twelve years Wallgate's designers have developed a range
of sanitary ware that is used within secure environments and have refined
these products to provide an anti-ligature range of WCs, basins, baths,
showers and accessories, which are accepted by the Home Office and Department
of Justice for use both within the police and prison sectors. In addition,
the anti-ligature design has proved popular with Mental Health Trusts,
seeking to protect vulnerable patients.
The company's turnover has trebled, under new management, in the last
three years.
