Important Safety Notice for Electrolux, AEG and Zanussi Dishwashers

Electrolux plc has today requested that owners of dishwasher models listed below should contact them regarding a potential safety issue. The reason is that a component used in the product could potentially cause overheating or in worst case a fire.

‘The risk is very small, but we want to take precautions. Therefore we request consumers to contact our service organisation so that we can check - and in case needed - change a component in the product,’ says Stephen Paish, Customer Services Director for Electrolux Major Appliances UK.

‘By clicking on Safety Notice area, highlighted on our branded websites homepages; http://www.electrolux.co.uk, http://www.aeg-electrolux.co.uk or http://www.zanussi-electrolux.co.uk consumers can check whether their appliance is affected. Consumers will need to input their PNC (Product Number Code) as well as the Serial Number.

The model denomination, PNC and serial number can be found on a label placed on the right side of the dishwasher door.

The following products will be affected:

No product purchased before June 2006 is affected.

‘Consumers owning one of these dishwashers should call our hotline on 0800 7076258, which is open Monday - Friday 8AM - 6 PM, Saturday & Sunday 9AM - 5PM.

Consumers should have their PNC, model number and serial number ready when calling.

‘Consumers with an affected dishwasher should not use the product or try to repair it themselves until our service organisation has attended the appliance. They should switch the appliance off but don't need to unplug it.’
