Housebuilder opts for Low Volume Flushing from [tc]

Strata, one of the UK’s leading designer homebuilders, is continuing to break new ground by encouraging water conservation in all its developments. With its sights firmly fixed on sustainability, Strata has introduced low level flushing WCs, as part of reducing its impact on the environment and making its new homes even more affordable to run.

[tc] bathrooms, which has supplied contemporary style suites to Strata for many years, responded to Strata’s requirements by designing and developing the new ‘eco-flush’ WC which flushes with just 5 litres instead of the standard 9 litres.

Strata’s Managing Director Andrew Weaver said: 'We liked the design of these WCs because they are contemporary in style and reflect the look and feel of our homes. The fact that we now offer even greater water efficiency is a huge benefit both for us and our customers. We are conscious of the need to meet homeowners requirements not just now, but in the future, which is the reason we are focused on sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment in all aspects of our build. The new suites will help minimise water consumption, benefiting the environment and making our homes more affordable to run.'

Steve Parkinson, Sales Director at [tc] bathrooms said: 'A bathroom suite is designed to last many years and Strata has gone one step further in helping homeowners to reduce their water use. By introducing the new WCs, Strata is acting as a responsible developer, making it easier and more affordable for homeowners to live their lives, knowing they are doing their bit for the environment.”
Water conservation is an important part of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which is due to be made mandatory for all new homes in May this year. To achieve Code level one, a person is expected to use no more than 120 litres of water per day and for level six, it is just 80 litres per day. Low volume flushing is just part of a complete range of products from [tc] bathrooms designed to make new homes more sustainable.

As well as WCs, [tc] bathrooms supplies baths, basins, showers and enclosures to Strata’s properties across Yorkshire and the North of England.

All the latest stunning designs are featured in the 2008 catalogue from tc bathrooms, which has just been released.
