Design London - Innovation, Creativity, and Culture for the Contract and
Retail Markets
The
UK's leading contemporary interiors event 100% Design is
set to push the boundaries of design even further with its on-going collaboration
with Tom Dixon - the shows Creative Director. A broad spectrum of new
talent, fresh ideas and innovative design promises to make this year's
event essential for the industry diary.
100% Design is the single biggest event during September's London Design
Festival. 100% Design 2007 was a great success with visitor numbers reaching
over 26,700 as well as attendance from 1,432 UK and international press.
Exhibition Director Peter Massey says, '100% Design continues to evolve
and the exciting line up for 2008 confirms this event as a design magnet
for both UK and international architects, interior designers, retailers
and specifiers.'
Global design talent at Earls Court
100% Design is Britain's most influential contemporary interiors show
and has attracted an even bigger range of UK and international brands
this year including Dupont Corian® and Missoni, Matthew Hilton, Hidden
Art, Herman Millar, Pinch, Hitch Mylius, Ahrend, Allermuir, Boss, Freedom
of Creation, Innermost Atwork Associates, Dornbracht, Bocci, and Normann
Copenhagen.
Furthermore, dedicated group stands from countries ranging from Korea,
Denmark, Belgium, Japan, Spain, and Canada are being showcased, further
establishing the diversity of 100% Design and additional exhibiting countries
include France, Germany, Estonia, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain.
The latest innovations from the world of contemporary lighting present
a combination of inventive technology and creative design including exhibitors
such as Studio Make Light, Anytronics, and Barrisol.
[re]design presents LIGHTEN UP, a sustainable lighting exhibition designed
to educate, engage and empower. LIGHTEN UP looks beyond the bulb to explore
what sustainable lighting means - from energy efficiency and sustainable
material choices, to how lights can make us feel.

100% Futures
Following its outstanding success in 2007, 100% Futures is back for a
second year, showcasing the best in emerging design talent and providing
a hands-up to the next generation from the UK and overseas.
Last year's exciting discoveries included Giles Wilson-Copp, Greece is
for Lovers, who this year will be making the exciting move into 100% Design,
Made in Denmark, and Lime Studio, who will also be designing the Levantina
Bar at 100% Design. What's more, the line-up for this year will see the
return of Benjamin Hubert who is set to present a brand new collection
of innovative products along with award winning James Design - University
of Northumbria, Jericho Hands and Point 3, to name but a few.
Amongst the newcomers to 100% Futures 2008, Spain's leading design school,
Elisava, will be showcasing the cream of the crop from their talent-rich
students.
Awards
The Londonewcastle 100% Design Awards have thirteen categories in this
year; prize presentations ranging from 'Best New Exhibitor' and '100%
Futures Most Promising Designer' to 'Innovative Lighting'. LondonNewcastle
will once again support the awards ceremony.
Last year's Blueprint Award winners in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph
included: Glove chair, by Swedese / Inform Furniture for Best Interior
Design Product, Matthew Hilton won the Best New 100% Design Exhibitor,
and Made in Denmark was awarded Best Contribution to 100% Design.
High-spec property developer Londonewcastle is giving emerging interior
designers another opportunity to demonstrate their creative flair with
The Best New Interior Designer award. The winner will be awarded a space
at 100% Design and a chance to re-create their design within one of LondonNewcastles
spectacular show-homes.
Special Features
Ten Again
'Ten Again' returns with 10 new exhibitors, producing a £10 product,
using materials sourced no more than 10 miles away. The original concept
was introduced by Chris Jackson and is now curated by Nina Tholstrup,
challenging design with a simple idea, yet producing tangible and exciting
results.
100% Norway
2007 marks the fifth consecutive 100% Norway, an exhibition of inspiring
design from Scandinavias most scenic Western quarter. Curated by
Henrietta Thompson and featuring new works in production both from Norways
more established talents alongside new names who have never before shown
outside Scandinavia.
Other features will include 100% Sustainable, a wide variety of workshops
and the Levantina Bar designed by Lime Studio.

Thursday 18th September, Friday 19th September, Saturday 20th September
and Sunday 21st September. 100% Design is open to the public on Sunday
21st September. Children under 16 will not be admitted on trade days.
