Ideal Bathrooms is relocating its Kingston
upon Thames distribution warehouse hub to new purpose designed premises
in Hayes, Middlesex.
Kingston
was the very first Ideal Bathrooms warehouse location in 1981 when the
company was first launched and has serviced the needs of retailers and
merchants throughout the south of the country for 26 years.
The move to the new distribution hub is part of our planned growth
programme says Operations Director Kim Kirby With an unprecedented
increase in sales of 22% over last year, the Kingston centre, which has
served us so well over the years, can no longer offer the extra space
required to meet our commitment to next day customer deliveries on an
ever broader range of product. It is essential to maintain this promise
to ensure our customers can offer their customers the turn round they
demand.
The new bespoke distribution centre which reflects the changing pattern
of distribution has more than doubled stockholding capacity for customers
throughout the south. With a height of 7m the new centre doubles the available
bulk pallet storage space and, in addition, a purpose build mezzanine
floor offers additional storage to accommodate the growing ranges of small
boxed items which are an important part of today's bathroom market. With
better access to motorways and other major routes, it will further improve
speed and efficiency of service.
Our relocation to Hayes has many advantages for our customers and
also our suppliers adds Kim First and foremost, however, it
will allow us to further improve the all important service support for
our customers - and it also gives us space to continue our growth.
The new distribution warehouse hub becomes fully operational from
the first week in April and plans have been carefully made to ensure a
seamless changeover.
