Winning Consultancy Creates Kitchen in New Home
Colliers, the kitchen design consultancy
service based in Worthing, was recently appointed to create a high specification
kitchen for a new home by developer, Charles James Homes.
This
was a special request because the house itself, although brand new, is
in fact architecturally designed to complement the local vernacular. Its
exterior appearance replicates the distinctive style of Reginald Wells
who built a number of prestigious homes in West Chiltington, during the
1920s, said Clifford Collier, Director at Colliers.
Barry Rayner, Director at Charles James Homes commented, The property
has many fine features including beamed ceilings, hand built open fireplace
and Oak country style doors, so it was important that the magnificent
28ft kitchen/breakfast room continued this theme whilst incorporating
everything one would expect in 21st century living.
Continued Clifford, We took time in ensuring that we were able to
create the right ambiance for this special home and have provided the
house with a superior German kitchen with traditionally styled profile
sculpture laminated kitchen unit doors in a soft vanilla, all with a patina
edge to create an antique look. The high quality, Baltic brown granite
work surfaces complement the kitchen beautifully.
The kitchen includes a large Britannia multi burner dual fuel range cooker,
Neff appliances throughout and top quality Spanish ceramic tiled floor
which has underfloor heating.
The large utility room adds practical space and valuable additional storage
which are very important in modern family homes.
Colliers is a family run business that can trace its routes back to 1905
when it began as a plumbing business by Charles W Collier Snr. In 1962
the company installed its first fully fitted kitchen.
Since then the company has gone from strength to strength being a finalist
in the KBB Review Industry Awards in 2007 and having features in such
magazines as 25 Beautiful Homes and Essential Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms.
Kitchens are the hub of a household and are therefore very important,
concluded Clifford. They need to fit the needs of the occupants;
they can be a sanctuary, a family room, or a room for high level entertaining.
At their best they are comfortable, workable and for a cook, have a layout
that makes sense. A kudos that gives enjoyment is the icing on the
cake!
Castlewood in Common Hill, West Chiltington is for sale for £895,000.
