News from THE Conference - Speakers to get People Talking
THE Conference 2008 is set
to be the best yet with a fantastic venue, packed programme, plenty of
opportunity for business and social networking, and an impressive line
up of speakers to entertain, inform and stimulate discussion.
BMF managing director and joint conference organiser, Chris Pateman comments,
'With key speakers drawn from within the industry and the wider business
community one of the unique elements of this event is the breadth of perspective
it provides on issues of real concern to merchants and their suppliers.
Addressing the changes in the marketplace and the challenges faced by
those operating within it, this years conference sessions look set
to be both lively and thought-provoking.'
Amongst the speakers on the bill this year, looking at specific issues
affecting the building supply chain industry is David Moody. Over
recent years, the use of prefabricated building modules, such as bathroom
pods, has become increasing popular amongst housebuilders. Its
a trend thats growing and it means fresh challenges for the way
merchants and their customers interact. David, former director at
Wolseley, will be examining the issues surrounding the rise of pod building.
Anthony Hilton was a big hit at THE Conference in 2007, where his predictions
about the impact of sub-prime lending in the housing market have since
proved cannily accurate. The award-winning business journalist,
author and broadcaster makes a welcome return visit to this years
event where he will once again be sharing his insight into global financial
issues and explain how whats happening on the world stage is likely
to impact on the UK merchant market.
Closing THE Conference this year will be the phenomenal memory man and
motivational speaker David Thomas who has overcome adversity to develop
one of the most powerful memories in the world. (Amongst his other
memory feats, in 2004 he memorised the sequence of playing cards in 100
shuffled packs, misplacing just 12 cards out of a staggering 5200!)
David shares with delegates his tips for achieving peak performance.
