Aqualux
Wins Prestigious MOD Contract
Aqualux
has secured a contract with the Ministry of Defence to install its Elite
Xtra Pivot Doors in the Royal Navy's oldest shore training facility based
on Whale Island, Portsmouth.
The
UK manufacturer of bath screens and shower enclosures has been appointment
as part of a HMS Excellent's refurbishment programme which was recommissioned
in 1994 to train naval officers for life at sea.
After a highly competitive tender, Aqualux's contract partner Dewco specified
138 Elite Xtra 760mm Pivot doors finished in polished silver. Aqualux
was able to offer added-value supply and fit service to ensure that the
enclosures were installed without disruption to other building works being
carried out at the same time.
Tony Head, Project Manager for Dewco said: We were looking for something
very specific and Aqualux were the only company who could manufacturer
a guttered pivot door and also offer a supply and fit service. This is
exactly what we were looking for and we'll no doubt be working with them
again in the future.
The Elite Xtra range is designed to offer installers increased flexibility
when fitting. Both the frameless and framed Pivot doors are also available
with a side panel which allows them to be installed in a recess or used
with a side panel to create a corner enclosure. As standard, the Xtra
range offers 54mm adjustment and is available in white or polished silver
frame finish and the side panels come complete with integral towel rail
and stylish handle on the Pivot door.
National specification manager, Colin Henderson commented: Dewco
set us a real challenge and we were able to rise to it and win the contract
which will hopefully lead to more work with the MOD.
