Sanitec
has reported operating profit for the first quarter of 2004 at EUR 23.9
million, which is a substantial increase of EUR 8.8 million or 58.3% over
the first quarter of 2003. The operating profit margin was 9.5 % of net
sales compared to 6.2% in the first quarter of 2003 and 3.6% in the last
quarter in 2003. The improved sales situation and restructuring efforts
in Bathroom Ceramic production and cost savings in the Sales, General
and Administration functions contribute to this notable increase.
