Fagor Celebrates Half Century
Fagor Electrodomesticos, the only Spanish multinational in the home appliance sector and part of MCC, the largest co-operative group in the world, this week celebrated its 50th anniversary with an international press conference in Bilbao. It also used the conference to introduce the new head of Fagor General Management, Txema Gisasola, who will be taking over when Pablo Mongelos - current head and a major architect of change within the group over the last few years - moves up to take a wider role within MCC.

Whirlpool Completes Acquisition of Maytag
Whirlpool Corporation has completed its acquisition of Maytag Corporation. The combined enterprise will immediately begin the integration process. 'The addition of the Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana and other brands, and the people who support those brands, will allow Whirlpool to more fully deploy our innovation capability across a wide assortment of high-quality products and services,' said Jeff M. Fettig, Whirlpool’s chairman and CEO.

Growth in the 4th quarter enabled the Company to make up ground lost in the first half of the year, bringing sales in 2005 to €3,064m, down 1.2% on 2004. The improvement in the last quarter was due mainly to increased volumes and a small reduction in the price/mix.

Jacuzzi UK To Consolidate Bradford Ceramic Manufacturing Capability
Jacuzzi UK, today announced the consolidation of its BRADFORD CERAMIC manufacturing capability into its Newcastle Under Lyme facility and its overseas partners. MFI Furniture Group PLC is to axe nearly 1,500 jobs as it cuts manufacturing capacity in the UK by 40% and closes stores. Sales of non-core products, such as bathroom furniture, will be progressively reduced. However, MFI will consider granting concessions for these products to third parties.
