Mode
Concept
Roper
Rhodes has launched Mode, a modular range of furniture consisting
of washstands, wash columns, basins and co-ordinating mirrors. Mode is
minimalist and differentiates itself with features such as the clean single
shut line drawer unit and square bottle trap which reflects the lines
of the furniture.
The Mode washstand has a stainless steel frame and toughened glass worktop.
The deep drawer features real wood veneered finishes in zebrano, wenge
or beech, each providing a distinct yet different look. Co-ordinating
mirrors are available in all three finishes.
Mode washstands can be fitted with a variety of glass and ceramic washbasins.
The stylish flat ground edged washbasins are available in a choice of
shapes square, round and oval in two finishes crystal clear or
frosted. (round basin available in clear finish only). Alternatively the
classic simplicity of the round ceramic basin may be preferred.
Mode square and round wash columns provide designer chic. The sleek lines
of the wash columns complement the glass basins. (The ceramic basin cannot
be used on the wash columns).
Press
Once For a Macdee Easy-Seal
The
latest from Polypipe Bathroom & Kitchen Products
is the new simple Easy-Seal Sprung Plug for basin and bath wastes. Thanks
to a spring mechanism hidden beneath the outlet plug, a single press on
the Easy-Seal cap achieves a watertight seal after which a second press
will release the seal and allow contained water to flow down the waste.
No pop-up mechanisms or chains are involved and no mechanism could be
simpler to work. The plug assemblies are scratch resistant, hard wearing,
easy to clean and competitively priced.
Easy-Seal 1.1/4" Basin plugs are available with either a chrome plated
ABS plug or a luxury chrome plated, brass bodied plug and are suitable
for all basins but especially for glass bowls, marble or stainless steel
basins. The 1.1/2" bath wastes offer the same options and are suitable
for any type of bath. The appearance of these new products from the Macdee
brand combined with the simplicity of 'single press' operation and high
quality finish should make Easy-Seal popular in the modern bathroom.

The
Roman Wetrooms Range lntroduces Bold New Structures
The
new Roman Wetrooms range of shower
enclosures and optional trays is aimed at customers who are looking for
bolder and more spacious shower enclosures that can be the centrepiece
of a family or en-suite bathroom,
Roman Wetrooms provides a modular system of panels and doors that can
be used within purpose-built wet rooms or installed in traditional bathrooms
using a variety of Roman low-level trays only 45-50 mm high compared with
the
standard 150-200 mm.
Many
items from Roman's Classics range (which is evolved into the larger Wetrooms)
are being carried over into the Wetrooms range, including neo-angle corner
units and the bath-sized doorless Colossus, which can now be installed
directly onto a wet-room floor or onto a standard or a low-level Roman
shower tray.
The low-level trays that enable Wetrooms enclosures to be used in traditional
bathrooms are fabricated using an advanced plastic resin (APR) that is
a revolutionary self-reinforcing material. This technique enables the
tray height to be as little as 45 mm. If ceramic tiling or carpet is laid
up to the tray, the effective threshold can be as little as 20 mm. This
effects level access showering with highly fashionable products - an inclusive
breakthrough in the market for elderly or less able users.
Roman has introduced a number of new enclosures into the Wetrooms range.
These use clear 5 mm or 6 mm toughened glass, with framing in white or
chrome-coloured aluminium. The new designs include:
A dual-entry 'His & Hers' wall-mounted enclosure - Freedom Two
This 1300 x 800mm enclosure is created by using a fixed linear flat glass
panel (installed parallel to, and 800 mm from, a room wall using 'flying
buttress' style overhead brackets) in combination with two curved hinged
glass doors - one at each end of the enclosure. There is also an 1 100
single-entry corner version using one door (Freedom One).
The Nautilus enclosure (pictured)
Two curved glass panels are fixed from the wall and overlap a convex inward
opening deflector panel to create a stunning shaped, yet very space efficient
enclosure. The wall fixing is only l000 x 900mm - but the showering area
extends to 1300mm due to thoughtful curved lines.
Compact hybrid walk-in enclosures with a deflecting door
These two spacious but compact enclosures build on the concept of the
doorless Colossus but reduce the 'walk-in' space required by using a hinged
panel that deflects the spray produced by the shower head and body jets
but does not need to close shut on a watertight seal. There are two sizes
of enclosure: 1200 mm x 800 mm, providing a 950 mm showering space; and
1400 mm x 900 mm, providing an 1150 mm showering space. This hybrid design
puts the emphasis on a generous showering area.
Flat panels
The Wetrooms range has been conceived as a flexible modular system. A
single flat panel can be used to create a simple shower enclosure in one
corner of a purpose-built wet room or linear panels can be free standing
parallel to a wall.
While Roman has introduced its Wetrooms range primarily as a design-led
development, the easily negotiated thresholds resulting from the introduction
of low-level trays will be of particular practical value to users whose
agility is restricted through age or disability. Hence all the family
can enjoy showering in a state-of-the-art enclosure that is not in the
least 'institutional' in appearance and will be highly acceptable to any
new owners if the property is subsequently sold.

Waterline
Bridges the Bathroom Gap with new E.S. Option
Waterline
has just expanded its Bathroom Furniture Collection with the E.S. option
for smaller rooms. This is a comprehensive, competitively priced, off-the-shelf
Collection designed to meet rising consumer demand for bathroom storage
space and pipework concealment.
E.S. has been developed to increase design flexibility and optimise limited
space. Shallow depth and narrow width units turn unproductive 'gaps' into
useful storage
areas. Product Manager Mark Bristow commented: 'British bathrooms are
notoriously small, with en-suites and cloakrooms particularly so. The
smaller the room, the greater the need for fitted fumiture to make every
inch of space count.'
E.S. offers a 500mm wide WC and basin unit with an overall projection
including the basin of around 400mm in an environment where a 500mm projectlon
is standard. E.S. base units are all 240mm deep including the door, and
in widths of 500mm (WC/SR), 250mm or 155mm. Wall units are 170mm deep
including the door.
The E.S. option is available in Waterline's full range of door styles
and finishes, choice of countertop colours, handle options, sanitaryware
and accessories. For simplicity and speed of WC installation, Waterline
supply the easy-fit Vantage concealed cistern from Thomas Dudley Ltd.

Contemporary
Bath Panels Set to Change the Way People Think About Their Sanctuary
Roper
Rhodes is launching a range of contemporary bath panels that
give a designer look to complement modern urban living, whilst still remaining
competitively priced.
For many years bath panels have remained little more than a means of filling
the void beneath the bath. Now a range of distinctive panels are available
that are design statements in their own right. This provides the consumer
with a stylish and practical alternative to traditional solutions.
Roper Rhodes used its experience to focus on every aspect of the six designs
and has utilised modern materials: glass and stainless steel have been
used to complement either beech, wenge or gloss white bath panel finishes.
One of the benefits of this range is that it gives you the option to customise
the bath panel to suit the sanitary ware you are intending to install.
Roper Rhodes has introduced corner posts in matching finishes, which allows
flexibility as well as design.
ClearShield
and Shower Doors and Enclosures
Dirt and greasy substances, from finger marks to soaps/shampoos and hairsprays,
accumulate in the microscopic valleys of the glass surface making cleaning
very difficult.
Many salts and minerals (limescale) found in common tap water will bond
to glass and eventually etch its surface.
'The surface of Clear-Shield Glass is chemically non-reactive (inert)
and 'non-stick'. Limescale and other dirt build up only half as fast,
and do not bond to glass. Cleaning is now a very simple task, etching
of the glass is avoided, and your shower doors achieve a new competitive
edge.' says Ritec.
A simple and economical after-care programme keeps ClearShield Glass looking
and performing like new.
For all glass in
* shower enclosures
* shower screens
* Always easier to clean, combats build-up of grease and dirt from soaps
and body fats
* Low maintenance, on average cutting cleaning frequency by half, for
more convenience
* Resists staining, stays in pristine condition much longer
* Remains visually attractive for much longer
Added benefit for sandblasted/abrasively etched decorations
* Resists staining by fingermarks, dirt and grease, sandblasted surface
resembles the satin appearance of acid-etched glass.

Polypipe's
New Pneu-Compact Cistern
Anticipating
increased demand for concealed cisterns, Polypipe
Bathroom and Kitchen Products recently introduced the Pneu-Compact.
This slimline cistern is not only suitable for in-wall installations but
can also be fitted within any piece of bathroom furniture 500mm or more
in width and it offers flexibility in bathroom design. The dimensions
of 320x360mm and a depth of only 140mm are the major factor but the cistern's
inbuilt overflow system is almost equally valuable since it eliminates
the need for an external overflow pipe or tundish and adds to positioning
options.
The pneumatic push button flush, as it is connected to the cistern only
by flexible plastic pipe, can also be placed to the greatest advantage
rathern than having a fixed position. The push button can be domed or
conical and operation is much simpler for young children and the elderly
than struggling with a mechanical lever.
The Pneu-Compact also offers significant advantages to the installer.
The WRAS Approved valves are pre-assembled in the factory, saving on fitting
time, and the internal overflow system prevents the necessity of drilling
through walls and bathroom units to fix overflow fittings. The 90 degree
flushpipe also reduces the size of cut-out required and eases the plumber's
task.
Maintenance is simple as the outlet valve can be serviced without disconnecting
the cistern and access to the working parts merely requires removing the
cistern lid.
The inlet valve on the Pneu-Compact can be side or rear-fitted for the
installer's convenience and naturally the cistern delivers a 6 litres
flush in compliance with the new water regulations.

The
New Coastal Collection from Arrow
Several years ago Arrow Distributors Ltd,
the specialist supplier of kitchen appliances to house builders, identified
a need for a bathroom range that was stylish and practical for homebuyers,
affordable for housing developers and adaptable to suit any size of bathroom,
cloakroom or en-suite. After close consultation with numerous builders
and developers, the trade-only Coastal Collection was launched. Coastal
Collection gave builders and developers the freedom to customise bathrooms
with a choice of tops, taps, handles and accessories, door styles and
finishes.

Since its launch Coastal Collection has been consistently popular, helping
developers to sell well fitted new homes and pleasing homebuyers with
its hardwearing good looks. The New Coastal Collection - has been available
to developers since last spring and has already proved a favourite.
The New Coastal Collection has fresh new designs to bring a Mediterranean
ambience to the bathroom. The new Palma, Capri, Latina (pictured) and Cadiz offer
flexible, affordable and practical good looks. A fitted bathroom is easier
to clean, so it looks better for longer, and for the builder there's a
saving in materials, cost and time by avoiding secondary fixings. Unsightly
pipes and cisterns are concealed behind units, panels and plinths, which,
nonetheless, provide easy access when required.
The Fitted Bathroom that's Made to Last...
New Coastal Collection units have in-built adjustment features to provide
a perfect fit for any size and shape of room. Carcasses are extra rigid,
for a longer working life, and all manufacturing is carried out in the
UK and hand finished to ensure detail that meets exacting quality standards.
The best in materials and manufacturing techniques ensure hardwearing
furniture that's sealed at all vulnerable points to prevent water ingress,
even in the busiest of bathroom environments. Customer satisfaction means
no complaints, and that means no ongoing costs for the builder.
Made to Measure with a Free Planning and Design Service
Customers can take advantage of Arrow's free Bathroom Planning and Design
service. All that's needed is a house plan or drawings showing the bathrooms,
cloakrooms or en-suites to be fitted. In return, Arrow will provide a
dimensioned plan view and three-dimensional drawing showing all fitting
details, unit breakdown and costing.
All One Price, All One Service
For extra flexibility there are no complicated costing adjustments necessary
to ring the changes in the bathroom. All four styles are one quality and
one price.

Showerlux
Sonora sets the Style Pace for Overbath Screens
Bathroom
specialist Showerlux has launched
Sonora, a contemporary, new overbath screen that brings minimalist design
to its screen collection.
Sonora combines frameless curved glass in the form of a contemporary,
single panel design to offer consumers a stylish, modern and functional
alternative to the traditional shower curtain. The screen is available
with a choice of designs - clear, mist and mirrored - and the clear and
mist options incorporate a dedicated towel rail handle which helps to
maintain an uncluttered feel.
The launch of Sonora comes as sales in the overbath screen market continue
to rise, as Showerlux Product Manager Phil Viner explains: 'Overbath screens
have always been a popular feature of our bathroom collection but the
growth in demand for space-saving solutions means their popularity has
risen. With the growth of en-suite bathrooms and increasing use of more
powerful showers, we have seen more and more homeowners choosing an overbath
screen as a way of saving valuable space in their bathrooms as well as
being a more practical alternative to the shower curtain.
'In terms of design, Showerlux overbath screens are continuing to set
the style pace in this growing market sector and larger, single panel
screens, like Sonora, that help to create a fresh, spacious feel, are
becoming increasingly popular. We are confident that Sonora's clean, minimalist
design, choice of contemporary screen finishes and practical space-saving
benefits will prove to be a winning combination with consumers.'
Sonora features a 'patch' hinge system, and is available in a choice of
frame finishes. The screen measures 1500mm by 900mm, with 8mm tempered
safety glass.
Recommended retail price is from £349.00 (exclusive of VAT).
