'Summer
is Over' - Official!
Without
the gentle hints from the weather and the colour of leaves, we know
we have slipped into Autumn when people start talking about exhibitions
taking place in early 2006, and - help! - the Christmas offers and specials
begin to trickle out to the press.
We
will spare you the Christmas stuff for as long as we can, but I can't
help mentioning a couple of this week's stories which share a seasonal
theme - chocolate.
Firstly,
AGA has introduced a 'chocolate' version of its famous range cooker,
which immediately brings to mind an image of the oft referred to chocolate
teapot, together with the question mark over its usefulness. It transpires,
thankfully, that 'chocolate' is just the colour.
Secondly, Mistral has today supplied Curry's with what it assures us
will be one of this year's 'must-have gifts' - a Bellini chocolate fountain.
The chocolate fountain is rather a beautiful thing as it goes, in both
form and function, but I am already envisaging thousands of them being
put back in their boxes and hidden in the back of the cupboard on January
2nd, when the guilt of overindulgence kicks in...
Finally, you have three more days to visit the Autumn Ideal Home Show
at Earl's Court, where, among other attractions, you can see recreations
of some Capital DJs' actual kitchens and bathrooms, which make you realise
that the phrase 'good face for radio' goes deeper than you think!
