Wolseley
Goes Shopping Again
Since the beginning of its current financial year, in August
2005, Wolseley has spent a whopping £900m on aquisitions.
For this money, the group has added some 50 companies to its portfolio,
which are expected to add £1,389m to group revenue this year.
The latest flurry of spending has added seven companies at a cost of
£89m, and expands the group's plumbing supplies and building products
distribution network. It also includes lighting and electrical companies.
Wolseley isn't the only company expanding: CAD software specialist ArtiCAD
is rolling out its product in Australia, and Heritage Bathrooms
is doubling its workforce in Yorkshire.
PS: Observant readers will have noticed that this week's K&BZine
