More Global Up and Downs

This week we publish the highlights from Masco's third quarter, which show satisfactory growth internationally, but a slight decline in its domestic market, with the housing slump in the USA having an obvious knock-on effect on the demand for building and interior products.

Of interest to UK kitchen retailers, especially those in the North of England, is the news this week that high end Spanish manufacturer Santos continues to look for outlets, having secured a flagship store in London and several more in the South, as it continues its UK expansion.

We also report on an interesting initiative from Siemens by which homeowners will be able to have a washing machine or dishwasher at home for a 28 day trial.
