Party Season

The globalisation of the appliance market continues, with Hoover Candy signing a deal with leading Scandinavian manufacturer Helkama Forste of Finland to acquire the exclusive commercial rights for the Helkama and Grepa appliances
. Aldo Fumagalli, chairman of the Hoover Candy Group, commented: 'The agreement with Helkama Forste widens our reach and increases our presence in the highly competitive European markets.'

This week also proved to be a highly sociable one, a good o
men for those BBQers aiming to squeeze the last drop of sunshine out of the summer by sparking up the barbie this weekend. Celebrating the end of an era, James and Wilhelmina Theobald held a garden party to say a big thank you to all the company’s staff and their families.

However, the party started (for some) last Friday, when Ideal Standard hosted a couple of tables at Austin Healey's testimonial lunch at the Intercontinental in London's Park Lane, attended by a raft of rugby stars ahead of the World Cup.

Also this week, Whirlpool and Axor Hansgrohe both hosted events in the capital on the same day: handy logistically but clearly requiring some stamina from the party animals trying to pack them all in. A tough week indeed!

Finally, a reminder that 100% Design opens its doors next Thursday. We have a few highlights here
