Training is the Key

Two major players in the kitchen and bathroom products market have this week opened training centres. Magnet has launched a new Kitchen Installer Training Academy in Leeds, with another facility nearing completion in Slough to service the South of England and plans to create more nation-wide.

Building Adhesives Ltd (BAL), meanwhile, has extended the scope of its training by establishing a new Tiling Training Centre in association with Tiles UK. The facility is co-located with Tiles UK’s Manchester Distribution Centre and Showroom, at Montford Street, Salford.

Cut the VAT!
The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) is campaigning to cut the VAT on maintenance, repair and materials to five per cent in a bid to tackle the current housing shortage and the impact of our buildings on carbon emission levels. A positive outcome will help consumers make their homes more energy and water efficient and go a long way to eradicating the ongoing problem of rogue tradesmen taking advantage of consumers.
