of the advantages of being a multinational retail organisation nowadays
is being able to communicate instantly with thousands of customers worldwide.
Electrolux frequently does this in order to conduct surveys, obviously
to improve its own offering, but also with a view to entertaining us in
the process.
The latest is the 2007 Kitchen Report; the most comprehensive European
survey into entertaining guests at home, for which 11,000 people across
11 countries were questioned. The slightly shocking findings suggest that
Europeans love entertaining, but around half of us have produced food
not good enough to serve up to our guests and regard our dinner parties
as a 'comedy'.
On top of that, there is the outside chance that the comedy will have
descended into farce, since your dishwasher may have burst into flames
as well as the food, if you were unlucky enough to possess one of the
models in Electrolux's latest safety warning.
