According
to the Financial Times today, the dangers of a full blown recession have
receded significantly. That will be good news for one man who is a bit
poorer this week - the enfant terrible of cheap kitchens Vance
Miller, who escaped jail but was fined 90,000 pounds this week at Manchester
Crown Court.
'Poor old' Vance has been hounded by the authorities since 2002 but is
now beginning to fight back by claiming that a dirty tricks campaign is
being waged against him on behalf of local developers who want his factory
site. There is also the problem of local gangsters who burnt his house
down and his claim that MFI pulled out of kitchens because of his business
model, which apparently involves intimidating Chinese quarry owners. Confused?
