Bushboard's Nuance range gives McCarthy & Stone home a stylish new shower room

* Bushboard-Nuance-Marble-Tabac.jpgDemonstrating its versatility for the bathroom, Bushboard's Nuance range has been used in a pilot project at a McCarthy & Stone development in Inverness to superb effect. The Nuance laminate panels were used in the creation of a level access wetroom, underlining the product's unique advantage of being what is thought to be the only laminate product on the market able to do so and guarantee to be 100% waterproof without unsightly extrusions.

The scheme was designed by Lisa McMyn, managing director of Ruby Slippers. The company focuses on home enhancements for independent living and specialises in helping the ageing population enjoy living at home for as long as possible, providing a one-stop-service from initial planning and design through to the installation of bathrooms, kitchens, stairlifts and through-floor lifts.

"Our service centres on the 'ageless design' concept our company has developed which combines good design with practical functionality to create stylish, home environments that align with the latest international ageing-in-place design principles and relevant building regulations," explains Lisa. "The Nuance product matched these requirements perfectly, giving a beautiful high quality finish that was far more stylish than any of the other cheaper wallboard products on the market."

The brief was to create a luxurious, safe and easy maintenance shower-room. The Marble Tabac design in laminate was chosen for its rich stone colouration in the large format laminate wall panels in 2420 x 1200 x 11mm. Featuring a long postformed edge, unique to the Nuance range, the panels can oversail the shower enclosure to provide a more aesthetically pleasing finishing detail and eliminate the need for unsightly extrusions. The panels were also seamlessly jointed providing an expansive decorative surface that is hygienic, easy to clean and 100% waterproof.

Nuance solid surfaced worktops in Glacier White were also used on the vanity unit and shelving above the WC and in the shower area.

"I first saw the product at KBB2010 and was drawn to its quality and look," reveals Lisa. "It has a far more extensive range of colours and patterns that designers can really work with.

"I would definitely work with the product again as I am so impressed by its stylish looks as well as its practicality both from an installation perspective and ease of maintenance by the customer who absolutely loves it. Bushboard's Customer Service Team was also incredibly helpful and supportive."

The Nuance bathroom surfacing range offers an extensive choice of panels, worksurfaces and upstands in a choice of sizes in 31 laminates and five solid surfaces. The range offers a complete decorative solution for the whole bathroom combining installation flexibility and design panache.

Nuance is available ex stock across the UK in 24/48 hours from a national network of specialist distributors. Brochures, technical & installation guides, large samples and swatches are available.
