Aeon
Radiator Heaven at 100% Design
Aeon
Radiator Heaven will be unveiling a collection of designs on stand C80
at this year's 100% Design Show at London's Earls Court, 20-23 September
2007, including its first furniture design - the new Abyss table. The
new designs, crafted from both brushed satin effect and mirror finish
hand polished stainless steel, have been designed with maximum energy
efficiency and heat output, unlike many contemporary designer radiators.
Also making its debut is the new Bamboo designer radiator. Taking its
design cues from bamboo shoots, the new wall mounted Bamboo has an integral
humidifier - a first in the designer radiator sector. Water is simply
poured into a stylish brushed stainless steel reservoir, integrated into
the overall design, at the base of the radiator. Evaporated water travels
from the reservoir up inside the Bamboo's stainless steel tubes and vents
at the top in a chimney effect, creating a healthy and non drying atmosphere.
It is also suitable for aromatherapy oils to be added to the water and
can improve the air quality and humidity levels in a room.
The new Abyss table for 100% Design is based on the concept of Aeon's
'Infini Mirror'. The 'Infini Mirror' was originally designed to be paired
with some of Aeon's upright radiator designs. By enlarging the 'Infini
Mirror', fitting it with a strong glass top with overhang, and designing
a complementary table base in brushed stainless steel, Aeon has created
a table which gives the effect of looking through the table into infinity,
hence the name Abyss. The effect is created with carefully positioned
LED lighting under the glass table top. The table concept is currently
available to order enabling customers to specify the exact shape or size
to suit their needs, and is suitable for both private and commercial sectors.
Another
new for 2007 design, Coffer, takes its name from the decorative sunken
panel in a ceiling, which it resembles. Like its namesake, it brings a
feeling of added depth to a space with its twin set of four mirror polished
stainless steel elements being recessed towards the centre. When hung
vertically Coffer can be used as a towel rail as well as a radiator. Hung
horizontally, it appears as a contemporary piece of modern art.
Influenced by the beauty and symmetry of a DNA strand and designed to
heat the largest of spaces, Speira comprises 120 individual hand-finished
brushed stainless steel blades sited precisely at 90 degrees to the next
to create a sculptural central feature in contemporary homes, offices
and hotels. LED lights luminate from the top down to the base, directing
the eye through the centre of the design, giving a continuous flow - an
almost Escher- esque quality to the intertwined semi spirals.
Siesta takes a modern twist on a design classic - the ladder style radiator.
Rather than even spacing of the 'rungs' all the way through the design,
there are three separate sets of 'rungs'. The front surface of each element
has been flattened and elongated to make the most of the brushed satin
finish stainless steel from which the radiator is made. These are also
bowed outwards slightly towards the centre, creating a very soft and elegant
feel to this new design.
