Uform chairman named as Ernst & Young 'Entreprenuer of the Year' finalist

* Eamon-Donnelly.jpgEamon Donnelly, co-founder and chairman of kitchen door and component supplier, Uform, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Ireland.

Following an intensive interview process, Eamon - who has recently completed a week long CEO retreat in Boston as part of a programme of strategic activities over the next six months - has reached the final within the 'industry category' and now competes against 23 other entrepreneurs with winners announced in October this year.

"I am thoroughly delighted to be named as a finalist in the Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' awards," he says. "To be named alongside some of Ireland's most successful business people is an absolute privilege.

"I have been working in the kitchen industry now for 33 years and I have along with my brother Paul and my late father Eddie established a market leading company which, now in its 23rd year of business, has doubled its revenue over the last three years. To reach this stage is not only testament to my ambition and determination for success, but it's also a wonderful achievement for the company as a whole."

The EOY Ireland programme has evolved into a development programme that supports fast-growth entrepreneurial companies with the three main award categories being; 'emerging', 'industry' and 'international'.

"I am hugely proud of our workforce and the importance of our people is engrained in the culture of our company. The next stage will be a very exciting chapter as we have further growth plans for the next five years to double our revenue again so the future of Uform is certainly bright."

The global EOY programme has been running in Ireland for 18 years and takes place in over 145 cities across 60 countries. Finalists in each of the categories and an overall winner will be unveiled at the annual gala dinner in Dublin in October.
