Soapbox: Barry Ashmore of Streetwise Subbie on the demise of Carillion, saying: 'Demand a public inquiry #Enoughsenough'

* Barry-Ashmore.jpg"So, Carillion has gone into liquidation and the Government is doing its incompetent best to deal with the fall out, and cover its tracks. Thousands of lives are going to be impacted and we will be working hard to help anyone caught up in this mess.

Whatever happens it's time for truth!

Sometimes it takes a big name to fail to make people sit up and look at things happening in the industry in a different light. We are not interested in the politics of procurement, we are interested in fairness, objectivity and a professional approach to construction.

Enough's enough, let's all work together for real truth and real change. So, here is what we would like you to help us with:

* Support our call for a Public Inquiry into construction at; https://goo.gl/qk6osw
* Share this message across all social media using #enoughsenough and #buildfair4all
* Share your stories in confidence with us by email

It's time the Government and every single decent individual working in the construction industry, whatever trade or profession, says 'enough's enough!'

It's time to stop ignoring the payment abuse, and the shameful and degrading way that some of the big players treat professionals and their subcontractors and suppliers!

What's in it for you?

It is true that our core business is protecting the interests of specialist contractors, but this is such a major issue that we are reaching out to all parties other than main contractors.

It might be a bit harsh to tar them all with the same brush, but for now that's the way it is. But, if you know a main contractor who would welcome a public inquiry, then please forward this to them.

The current state of the industry isn't good for anyone, and it's getting worse not better. Existing arrangements are not working. It's time for something new and better.

So, please feel free to give us a call or email us and most of all please support and share our petition calling for a Public Inquiry at; https://goo.gl/qk6osw

I sincerely hope to speak with you soon."
