Polypipe heat recovery units help developer reach Code 3
Polypipe Ventilation, provider of energy-saving domestic and light commercial ventilation systems, has had its heat recovery system specified for Larkfleet Homes' extensive new housing development in Bourne, near Peterborough. The first stage of the development, known as 'The Old Laundry', has now been installed with the HR01 units supplied by Deepings Trading.
Larkfleet Homes prides itself on high quality sustainable developments using innovative technology and construction methods. The use of heat recovery in this latest housing development fits well with this philosophy and is the first major development for Larkfleet using the HR01 system. It has provided Larkfleet with a cost effective Code 3 housing solution when used with thermal solar panels.
The Polypipe HR01 heat recovery system has been supplied with a summer bypass facility which helps reduce running costs during the warmer months. The systems have been installed with Polypipe's Domus rigid ducting throughout the properties, which comprise flats and houses.
Energy Saving Trust Best Practice compliant and SAP Q rated, the HR01 Mechanical Extract Ventilation Heat Recovery units work by warming fresh air drawn into the building with the heat from waste stale air - as found in the kitchen or bathroom for example - thus reducing the need for heating. The HR01 units themselves which are among the quietest on the market, are light weight and compact for simple, quick installation in kitchen cupboards or lofts.
When used with Domus duct systems as in the Larkfleet development, the Polypipe solution provides one of the most effective MVHR systems in the market, as guaranteed whole system performance can be achieved thanks to the exacting manufacturing tolerances of the duct system providing a uniform profile with a superior fit for reduced air leakage.
