Polypipe ventilation expands MVHR solution

Following the successful launch last year of its Mechanical Extract Ventilation Heat Recovery units, Polypipe Ventilation has expanded its HR range with the addition of high capacity models designed for larger properties.

The new Energy Saving Trust Best Practice compliant and SAP Q rated HR02 and HR03 units accommodate up to seven wet rooms and a kitchen and work at up to 640 Pascals of pressure, allowing for very long duct runs.

This increased capacity makes them suitable for larger domestic properties, yet they remain extremely compact and light weight and can be easily installed in kitchen eye-level cupboards or lofts, installed through even the smallest of loft hatches.

The units work by warming fresh air drawn into the building, with the heat from waste stale air - as found in the kitchen or bathroom for example - using an efficient counter flow heat exchanger, thus reducing the need for heating.

An average bathroom full of moist air can contain over 600 Watts of heat energy and is exhausted twice every hour. The HR appliances can recover more than 92% of this heat directly, saving cost and reducing carbon emissions.

In addition to reducing fuel bills, the HR units help prevent condensation and improve overall indoor air quality.

All Polypipe HR units, including the original HR01 which services up to two wet rooms and a kitchen, are available with an optional summer bypass facility which ensures properties do not overheat during the warmer months. A range of tamper-proof sensors ensure the system runs optimally all year round and all units are offered with a three year warranty as standard.

When used with Domus ducting systems, Polypipe HR units provide one of the most effective MVHR systems in the market, offering a guaranteed whole system performance which can be achieved thanks to the exacting manufacturing tolerances of the duct system, virtually eliminating air leakage and minimising pressure drops.

To simplify central ventilation system specification, Polypipe Ventilation's VSPweb On-line Planning tool gives customers the opportunity to easily select a duct system and the most suitable HR appliance for a property, saving considerable time and effort. The end result is a summary of the property / unit and a single order code to make purchasing the correct Duct Pack simple.

Duct packs are available from a national network of Approved Ventilation Solution Providers.
