Welcome to the

KBzine

I received a press release this morning and I consider the subject matter to be so important that I've pulled the leader I'd already written, to ensure that this new information is given coverage this week rather than next.

It's not often I highlight a company's actions in these leaders, but as part of its 'Refill not Landfill' initiative, Franke has compiled a short Snapshot Survey on plastic waste, to coincide with the worldwide 'Plastic Free July' campaign, and it wants you to take part. So do I.

The Survey is designed to get a view across our industry of attitudes to, and consumption of, single-use plastic bottles. Results will be published to share the insights gained. I've just taken the survey myself and although I've not bought a small plastic bottle of drink in around three decades, the questions asked, still made me think about what I do and why. If you're not someone who's been called 'weird' for decades for washing up other people's plastic bottles for your family to fill with their own drinks, or taken binned plastics home from your workplace to wash and recycle (as I have), then you need to take this survey now.

"We'd love to see as many people as possible taking part," says Neil Clark, managing director at Franke UK. "We believe small changes can make big differences and this short survey is designed to encourage us to think about the individual and collective actions across business that can help reduce plastic waste. The results will give us a snapshot of where we are at now on this topic and we hope it encourages people to think about the changes they can easily make in their everyday lives."

I couldn't agree more.

Franke's 'Refill not Landfill' campaign is aimed at reducing the use of plastic water bottles in everyday life through a promotion run by its retail studio partners nationwide, with consumers receiving two free water flasks on purchasing any Franke (or sister-brand Carron Phoenix) tap which includes filtration, until 31st October.

Please find the survey at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/FrankeSnapshotSurvey and be in with a chance of winning one of 50 smart, brushed-chrome, reuseable water flasks.

The campaign can be followed on Twitter using #RefillnotLandfillUK and the Franke website.
