SBID announces International Design Awards as Official British Partner of Maison & Objet

As the official British partner of Maison & Objet,The Society of British Interior Design is delighted to be launching the inaugural International Design Awards to both SBID and non-SBID interior design professionals from around the world. The competition will measure six categories of interior design excellence.
Robin Gibb CBE, singer & song writing legend of the Bee Gees a passionate champion of thecCreativeiIndustries, leads the judging panel.
Other judges are David Lewis and Christopher Head of Sunseeker London; Ken Baker, Managing Principal of Gensler Architect; Peter Bierwirth, President of The European Hotel Management Association, and Carolina Calzada -Oliveira, Marketing Manager of the trend consultancy company Global Color Research - publisher of Mix publications.
A specially commissioned award trophy has been created for the six design categories by Lasvit, the Czech Republic based designer and manufacturer of bespoke contemporary lighting and large glass art installations for some of the world's most beautiful hotels and other properties.
The winners will be announced and awards presented by Robin Gibb CBE at Maison & Objet on Sunday 11th September in Paris.
Applications can now be uploaded online. The closing date for online design submissions is August 19th 2011.
