The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association presented the KBSA supplier awards at the recent 2011 kbbr Kitchen Conference. The awards recognise excellence in those companies that supply products to KBSA retailers and are the only awards of their kind that represent the views of retailers and not a panel of judges.

For the second consecutive year the winners include Neff for best product supplier; Miele won the award for best training provider and a joint award was given to Omega and Mereway Kitchens/Wentworth for best display support.

Retailers voted for their top companies as part of the 2010/11 KBSA supplier survey, which has supplied valuable information about the amount of business generated by retail members for corporate members. Statistics from this year's survey report that around £237 million of sales is generated at retail sale prices, which breaks down as almost £90m from appliances, over £30m from work surfaces, around £20m from sinks and taps and the balance being the furniture itself.

Two new awards were introduced this year for outstanding contribution to the kitchen industry and to recognise companies that have supported independent kitchen specialists in particular. These were awarded to Alan Carter, Sales Director, Bosch and Duncan Marr, Managing Director, Franke UK.

Presenting the awards, KBSA CEO Graham Ball said: "We are delighted that such well recognised and well respected companies have received the KBSA awards... congratulations to them all.

"The KBSA is the only association to offer both retail and corporate membership in the KBB industry and this relationship is a key benefit for both parties. KBSA retailers are responsible for a substantial quantity of sales of premium products supplied by our corporate members and many corporate members have seen their sales increase after taking part in the trading benefit initiatives that we currently offer."
