Quebec Oak worksurface from Bushboard works trend for organic harmony

* Bushboard-Omega-Quebec-Oak-laminate-breakfast-bar.jpgReferencing natural materials continues as a key design trend and Bushboard's new Quebec Oak laminate worksurface from the Omega range responds to it impeccably.

Printed in high quality definition, the design reinterprets the time-honoured appeal of oak for the modern day and features a subtle washed effect that enhances the graining. The visual and aesthetic appeal is further heightened by ultramatt texture which gives the surface a low-reflective quality and is warm to the touch, akin to newly sanded wood.

Quebec Oak is available with the new Q3 edge profile, an exclusive development by Bushboard for its Omega range, which offers a crisper, squarer front edge that mirrors a slab of freshly cut wood. Yet its low cost means it will appeal to consumers looking for the beauty of a woodgrain worksurface at a more affordable price point compared to real timber, while also gaining the benefits of an easy maintenance, high performance material too.

Says Stuart White, managing director at Bushboard:

"Quebec Oak will appeal to a broad church of customers because it captures the nostalgia and warmth that they like about oak, yet without being old-fashioned. It has the perfect classic-modern design flexibility, while also being highly functional.

"Laminate has always had inherently fantastic performance characteristics, but with the latest developments in design and surface technology style doesn't have to be sacrificed when budgets are tight."

Quebec Oak is one of the six designs on the Omega range that is available in two options of curved components, as well as conventional worksurface, upstands and splashbacks. The readymade and pre-finished components offer the design flexibility for casual dining and feature furniture. There is a breakfast bar measuring 3000 x 955 x 38mm with a radiused curve at one end and a square end at the other.

This can be used on a freestanding island unit, a traditional breakfast bar run or, cleverly, can be cut down and planted on the end of a furniture run and set on legs for some casual low level dining. The second component is a worksurface that measures 4100 x 650 x 38mm and features a curve at each end, ideal for use with curved doors at the end of a run of cabinets.
Bushboard's Omega range offers a total of 52 worktop and upstand decors, including 41 splashback designs with an extensive choice of sizes available. The POS package includes a brand new 36 page colour brochure, swatches and display stand.
