Pseudomonas - we need more facts

The tragic baby deaths in Belfast's Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital have shocked us all and investigations into how and where this killer bug, pseudomonas, thrived, need to be carried out quickly and accurately.
Members of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association are as keen as any in the industry to find out the real facts from the investigators. The worst thing we can do is jump to conclusions and respond without more information.
Meanwhile a greater understanding of pseudomonas would be helpful. We know that it is a tough strain of bacteria which can survive in harsh environments. And we know that it is found widely in damp conditions and stagnant water.
