RAK

* RAK.jpgThe team at RAK had been rushed off its feet for the duration of the show and Debbie Fleming (on the left in our image, with a colleague) told us that it would be 'all hands on deck' after the event, to deal with the many quality enquiries received there.

Showing us around the rooms sets, she explained that RAK was using the show to launch a number of new products. These included RAK's Rimless WC range. Part of RAK's popular Compact bathroom collection, the range includes six rimless toilets featuring a small footprint and curved, contemporary design. In addition to standard formats for hygiene-conscious consumers, three extended projections are available for wheelchair users, in both back-to-wall and close-coupled formats.

* RAK-White-Smoke-tile-bathroom-roomset.jpgAll models feature comfort height levels and comply with the Department of Health's HTM64 Standard. They also feature RAK's new eco-friendly revised trap design and modified Geberit cistern fitting, which reduces flushing volume by 33.5% to just 4.0/2.5 litres.

Bathroom collections on display included Series 600, Metropolitan, Opulence, Summit, Infinity, Credenza and Compact, as well as RJA bathroom collections.

A kitchen display area featured RAK Fireclay sinks, combined with Lounge porcelain slabs and floor tiles. A clever idea was the model staircase clad in porcelain, which demonstrated the durability of porcelain slabs.

There were further display panels, wall cappings and worktops, as well as five additional new tile ranges being launched at the show, which would perhaps explain why the stand had been so busy!

We mentioned new tiles and Debbie showed us the four new tile designs in the company's surfaces range. They include elegant White Smoke; the Classic Series; an on-trend concrete-look tile range called Earthstone and a series of new glass and porcelain decorative borders called Lounge Listellos.

Combining exquisite design with durability, RAK's new White Smoke tile features a classic white statuario marble effect achieved using the latest ink-jet technology. The large format 60x60mm design shows the fine grey marble veining to full effect, creating an authentic surface that can be used across floors and walls.

Also featuring a traditional tile format, but available in a spectrum of contemporary shades, RAK's new Classic Series plain colour range is available with a matt and gloss finish. Classic is offered in a 10x30 format and is suitable for both domestic and commercial applications.

For an on-trend urban look, the new Earthstone porcelain tile range includes four colour options, each offered with matching mosaics. The refined concrete-effect porcelain tile is available in both 60x60mm and 60x30mm formats and has a matt finish.

The final new collection, Lounge Listellos, includes a series of glass and porcelain decorative borders. Designed to co-ordinate with RAK's popular Lounge tile and slab collection, the borders can be used to create stylish, decorative features for walls and floors.

Established in 1991, RAK Ceramics is said to be the world's largest manufacturer of ceramic and porcelain tiles. Its range also includes ceramic sinks, sanitary ware, brassware and acrylic baths, with products currently exported to more than 150 countries.
