Siamp rises to the challenge to raise money for African charities

Siamp UK joined forces with industry colleagues and people from across the world to tackle a tough fundraising challenge in South Africa.

Siamp managing director Stuart Lorne took part in the eight day Enduro Africa Challenge, a 1500-mile off-road motorcycle trip along South Africa’s rugged Wild Coast, to raise money for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, Touch Africa and UNICEF.

Manchester-based Siamp UK is the UK branch of the leading French sanitaryware manufacturer and distributor. Established in April 2009, Siamp UK provides a premium service to UK customers.

“The trip was an incredible experience, but it was physically very hard and we had to dig deep to get through it," admits Stuart. "We all fell off plenty of times, but we got back up and carried on.”

The 88-strong team managed to exceed its fundraising target of £150,000, raising £250,000 in total.

“The trip made all of us realise how lucky we are – the fantastic amount of money raised will allow worthy causes to continue the great work they do to help those less fortunate than us," adds Stuart. "It took me weeks to recover, but it was definitely worth our hard work!”
