Bushboard adds sensational new surfaces to its Prima worktop range

Living up to its new corporate strapline of 'sensational surfaces for your kitchen', Bushboard has added six new worktop designs, two new textures, 10 new splashback colours, its exclusive Q3 edge profile and design-friendly shaped components to its updated Prima 40mm laminate worktop range. Prima is launched this week, supported by a new POS package which will be fully merchandised across the UK with retailers by the end of the month.

"Prima continues to build on the brand's values for classic design while coming right up to date with our unique product enhancements of the crisp Q3 edge profile and shaped components which work so well with the trend for curved kitchen furniture," says Stuart White, managing director at Bushboard.

"Prima is a very well-established brand with retailers and this strengthened offer enables them to be at the vanguard of laminate development, have greater design freedom and a strongly competitive edge."

There are five new designs being added to the popular True Scale family which mirrors the luxurious looks of natural granite, stone and marble. These are Sequoia Slate, Breccia Paradiso, Calacatta Marble and Black Fossilstone in Radiance texture and Roman Travertine in a new Etchings texture, giving the laminates a distinctive quality and design exclusivity.

Technically, the True Scale granites are the largest scale currently possible in high definition printing and capture a depth and quality of reproduction that is synonymous with Bushboard's leading-edge attitude to worksurfaces.

Adding an exotic woodgrain theme is the new Ebony design in a new Naturelle matt texture which offers sumptuous styling with a contemporary feel. New splashback colours include four fashionable shades of Aquamarine, Graphite, Iris and Olive.

Prima will now feature Bushboard's Q3 edge profile which delivers a crisper, squarer front edge and enhances the look of woodgrain and granite designs. The Q3 edge profile is also being introduced on all Prima upstand designs for an enhanced authentic feel.

Responding to the key design trend for curved kitchen furniture, Prima will offer two shaped components in a choice of five popular designs of Antique Mascarello, Calacatta Marble, Amber Kashmir, Black Granite and Natural Block Walnut. The worktop is 3580 x 650mm with curves at both ends and the breakfast bar is 3000 x 955mm with a double curve at one end and a square finish at the other. These offer the design flexibility to finish a curved corner, be a breakfast bar or a casual low table. The ready-made shaped worktops extend the application of laminate into an area traditionally dominated by the more expensive fabrication of materials such as timber, granite and marble.

Says Stuart: "Laminate worktops are more price accessible to the majority of homeowners than any other worksurface material and the shaped components in highly realistic designs allows retailers to offer the very latest trends to a far wider audience of consumers than ever before. Laminate is the worksurface material that helps retailers design to a budget, while also exceeding the client's expectations, which is clearly more relevant now than ever."

Prima worksurfaces are available in 3m, 3.6m and 4.1m lengths in widths of 600, 665 and 900mm with matching upstands and splashbacks.

The full Prima offer is available ex-stock nationwide through 24 distributors. A brand new POS package is available for retailers including a lifestyle brochure, swatches and sample blocks.
