Blast of future technology keeps food safely

Popular appliance manufacturer Baumatic has launched the perfect product to ensure home-cooked food can be stored at its optimum temperature for re-heating at a later date; a great way of ensuring the whole family has access to a healthy, nutritional meal - however hectic life gets.

The Department of Health suggests that in order to ensure all the goodness and nutrients remain in freshly cooked food when stored, its temperature should be reduced from +70°C to +3°C within 90 minutes, something that is just not possible with a conventional freezer. Baumatic's Blast Chiller, from its PremiumLine compact range, exceeds this requirement by safely blast chilling from a starting temperature of +90°C.

Working in a similar way to a combi or convection oven, the Blast Chiller has powerful fans that create a fast, even air flow. Using a high-powered refrigeration system, cold air is blasted laterally over the product at high speed to extract heat at an optimum rate, while maintaining food quality.

Once the chill or freeze cycle is complete, the appliance switches to 'thermal maintenance mode' to keep the food at its optimum temperature until it is stored.

Baumatic's new Blast Chiller is suitable for chilling or freezing any food type so the appearance and surface texture of even delicate foods such as rice, pasta, fish and fruit is maintained.

With a sleek black appearance and stainless steel edging, found throughout Baumatic's PremiumLine collection, the BBC460SS Blast Chiller is simple to use and elegantly brings professional cooking into the domestic kitchen.
