Major milestone reached by BMA

* Jika-childrens-bathroom.jpgDuring a surprise interlude at this week's Bathroom Business Conference, Nina Hossain, broadcaster and journalist and host for the event, announced to the 180 plus attendees that the award winning Bathroom Manfacturers Association had reached a major milestone in its long and well-respected history. The 100th member brand had been signed up that very morning.

Jika, the long-established sanitaryware company from the Czech Republic, has joined the Keele University-based BMA.

Alan Dodds, managing director of Roca UK, and Steve Lee, President of the BMA, took to the stage to seal the deal and slice a celebratory cake.
Jika, part of the Roca Group, is based in Znojmo, a city in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, and claims to be the oldest sanitaryware company in continental Europe. Jika's strategy focuses on compelling design, high quality, perfect functionality a comprehensive product portfolio in all price ranges.

"This is a big day for the BMA," commented Steve Lee. "Our association has been growing rapidly in the last few years, testament to the ideas which our members promote, and to hit the 100 brand milestone really is something to be proud of and to celebrate."

The Bathroom Business Conference, held at Carden Park near Chester, has been described as the most international yet with speakers and delegates arriving from many parts of the world to discuss and debate the most important people in the bathroom industry - its customers.

The multi award winning BMA, based at Keele's Innovation Centre, is the trade association for bathroom manufacturers operating in the UK. It is the principal 'Voice of the Bathroom Industry' and acts as an information hub for the industry, government, the EU and the consumer on issues that affect the bathroom business.

The BMA represents, through its technical, marketing and management committees, the interests of over 60 major bathroom manufacturing groups and service providers with 100 well-known brands in the market place. The manufacturing base directly employs well over 10,000 people across more than 80 sites around the UK.
