Verona takes on warrior challenge for charity

Employees at tile distributor, Verona, have raised more than £1,800 for charity after completing a gruelling obstacle course.

An 11-strong team completed the five-mile Yorkshire Warrior challenge at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, taking on ice baths, scaffolding climbs, muddy underground tunnels, river wading and log carrying.

"This year we've made Martin House Children's Hospice our chosen charity and the Yorkshire Warrior presented a fun and challenging way in which to raise money for them," says Paul Turner, sales director at Verona Stone.

"Everyone pulled together to make sure all team members crossed the finish line, with a respectable time of two hours and 12 minutes."

Money raised by the team will be donated to Martin House Children's Hospice in Boston Spa, which supports young people with life-limiting illnesses, along with their families.
