Space Saving Triple Waste Bin from Häfele
The
latest space saving waste bin compact from Häfele
is designed to carry the maximum cargo while fitting inside the limited
space of a 400mm cabinet.
Häfele's
space saving triple bin unit is designed to interact with the hinged doors
of 400mm base unit cabinets. The housing frame and the bin lids are secured
as a single unit to the base panel of the cabinet and the bin cluster
is drawn clear on its own runner system for easy access as the door is
opened.
The lids of the three refuse containers raise automatically as the door
is opened and the bins are drawn clear. When the bin cluster is returned,
the lids drop down to fit snugly over the containers to minimise escaping
smells.
A minimum installation height of only 320mm is required - the new triple
bin cluster is ideal for insertion in under-sink base units, making practical
use of space not otherwise easy to optimise. And with an overall waste
capacity of 35 litres - one 18 litre container plus two at 8.5 litres
- this new compact is ideal for waste segregation and management in today's
smaller kitchen.
The bin frame is in silver plastic coated steel while the bin containers
are in moulded and colour coded plastic - the larger 18 litre container
in black and the two smaller units in grey, one green plastic lined for
organic waste; each container can be emptied individually, of course.
The grip panel, by which the user can draw the bin cluster forwards, is
also in grey plastic.
Overall dimensions are width: 336mm x depth: 471mm x height: 320mm.

Mondo
Success Story from Häfele
Mondo
carousels are one of the unqualified success stories of the kitchen fittings
and accessories supply sector over the past decade, according to Ray Fisher,
Sales Director of UK distributor Häfele.
When
we launched Mondo back in the mid-90s it was the definitive - and only
- kitchen storage module designed to make best use of corner cabinets
in base unit runs. There are now alternative storage solutions but Mondo
remains in a class of its own for carousel storage and for the volume
of products needed on a day to day basis that can be easily stored and
brought immediately to hand.
And now all Mondo models are available with a soft closure mechanism to
ensure optimum ease and efficiency of use for a growing range of door
shapes and finishes.
Mondo also now comes with more specification options - grey plastic carousel
shelves with moulded retaining lip, white plastic with chrome wire retaining
rails, with convex or diagonal closures, with or without wooden chopping
block cappings, with internal lighting - and all now with optional soft
closures.
The pre-assembled Mondo carousel kits for 900 x 900mm corners are cylindrical
in white epoxy coated steel and come now with 16mm wooden side panels
for added rigidity when sited.
Plinth height is 150mm and Mondo also now has a range of adjustable plinth
legs in black plastic for easier levelling in position.
While there are now corner storage options that might be considered
glamorous or technically whizzy, for the ultimate in smooth efficiency
for corner storage in the modern kitchen, Mondo remains in a class of
its own, says Ray.

Slide
Show from Shades...
This
new side-sliding mirror from Shades
is especially designed for that all too common situation when the basin
is positioned under the window leaving nowhere to hang a decent sized
mirror. Simply slide the mirrored door across and it's exactly where you
need it - genius!

With
the added benefit of two shelves of storage within, this cabinet is already
proving particularly popular with developers who are being forced to cram
more bathrooms into properties and consumers also appreciate the fact
that the door doesn't open out into the room, which can make access awkward.
It measures 175mm d x 600mm w x 550mm h and will retail at around £199.

PWS
Extends Shelf Light Range
Building
on the success of the stainless steel 'Anthea' shelf light PWS
has introduced a new wenge finish which responds to the trend for dark
timbers in contemporary kitchen design.
The double-faced fluorescent shelf light not only has an ultra modern
styling but also acts as a focal point to display decorative items, uniting
form with function.
Available in 600mm and 900mm lengths, the high specification light includes
brushed glass diffusers, 4mm thick toughened glass, a high performance
triphosphor fluorescent tube and instant flicker-free start up.
With its minimal design the Anthea light is equally suited to other interiors

Utensil Trays in Rustic Beech from Häfele
This
drawer insert, in solid rustic beech, with utensils in stainless steel,
is one of several differently sized models now available from Häfele,
each with alternative utensil sets.
The model pictured is designed for a 600mm drawer and measures 473mm -
it comes complete with a 50mm spacer to locate the tools and the tray
tightly into the drawer. The spacer insets to the rear of the drawer to
bring the utensils easily to hand at the front as it is opened.
The rustic beech of the utensil tray is clear lacquered, as is the 50mm
spacer piece, for both good looks and for high level impact protection.
The quality stainless steel of the utensils is augmented by rubber grips
to help the user get the best from them - each piece has inset rubber
thumb grips and also, at the ends of the handles, a rubber grip pad to
interact with the heel of the hand.
Utensils demanding a firmer grip - like the corkscrew - have additional
rubber strip grips on the handles to ensure an even firmer hold.

Wine
Storage - For the User's Eyes Only!
Designed
for people who want to store their wine, rather than display it, is this
new pull out wine rack from Häfele.

With
a frame designed to fix to the side panel of a base cabinet, Häfele's
new wine rack accommodates up to 20 bottles and also a dozen wine glasses
- all out of sight and away from dust and grime.
And when the user wishes to make a selection, the whole contents pull
forward into full, unobstructed view on a heavy duty, full extension ball
bearing runner system that comes supplied as part of the kit.
The frame is in silver finished steel and the wine and glasses rack is
a chrome finished, heavy gauge wire construction. Minimum installation
depth is 480mm and the height requirement is 650mm.

JJO
plc Introduces New Corner Storage System to its Accessories Range
J&J
Ormerod plc (JJO
plc), the independent UK manufacturer of kitchens and bedrooms, has unveiled
its comprehensive range of useful kitchen accessories, including the Magic
Corner, suitable for the Colonial kitchen range. Recognising that the
kitchen has become the central room of the home, JJO plc's accessories
provide solutions to a range of space and design challenges. The accessories,
which range from lighting and wine racks to storage solutions, are an
add-on sale opportunity for stockists of JJO plc's kitchen ranges.
Storage requirements often dictate the design of many kitchens where space
is at a premium. JJO plc offers a range of units that are all designed
to maximise space in the most innovative way possible. The Magic Corner
in Chrome, for example, features a cabinet door that is on a runner rather
than a hinge. The shelves are attached to the door rather than the carcass,
so when the door opens on the runner, the shelves extend completely out
of the cabinet, allowing easier access to the very back of the cupboard.
The Magic Corner storage system is suitable for the 1000mm conventional
corner base unit and can be used with any kitchen within JJO plc's Colonial
range. Available with the option of left or right hand opening it can
be combined with other storage solutions offered by JJO plc. Priced at
£375 inc VAT, the Magic Corner comes in chrome with painted chrome
finish.
Internal drawer units that fit into cupboards or larder units with chrome
finish shelving are a great design innovation. Internal drawers can be
inserted into cupboards and vegetable baskets hidden behind cabinet doors.
These units are all designed to extend outside the cabinet and then to
simply lift back inside as the door or drawer closes. With simple, strong
mechanisms and silent movement, the pull-outs come in lacquered pressed
steel and can fit into JJO plc Colonial kitchens conventional base units
from 300mm to 600mm widths and are manufactured by Blum. Prices start
at £493 inc VAT for a 300mm internal drawer stack up to £525
inc VAT for a 600mm stack.
JJO plc's accessories also include Blum drawer dividers. Traditional dividers
were suitable to sort cutlery, but Blum has devised inserts which can
hold cutlery, utensils and knives with ease and in deeper drawers can
divide provisions, pans and crockery. The dividers can be used in different
combinations within the same drawer to hold different utensils and come
in a variety of widths. Prices start at £18 (inc. VAT) for a single
600mm provisions divider, £30 for a B1C1 single width cutlery divider
and up to £118 (inc. VAT) for an Orga-line adjustable plate rack
(which comes in pairs).
JJO plc is a corporate member of the KBSA (Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialist
Association), a long term member of ASFI (Association of Suppliers to
the Furniture Industry) and a supporter of FIRA (Furniture Industry Research
Association).

Pewter
pull at PWS
It
seems the pull of pewter knows no bounds when it comes to the success
of PWS' handle portfolio. So much
so that a further 23 solid pewter designs have been added to PWS' new
collection for 2007, reflecting a very keen demand for pewter in kitchen
interiors.
The
new handles embrace both modern and classic designs proving that pewter
is rapidly losing its reputation as a traditionalist's choice and it is
increasingly finding its way into some very contemporary interiors. With
this in mind the new handles have a slightly softer styling with plenty
of shape and contouring.
Comments Andrew Langford, PWS' Marketing Manager, 'It's the rise and rise
of pewter. Flashback five years and we literally had a handful of pewter
handles in our range, yet now the collection extends to more than 100
options which is testament to the success and design appeal of this beautiful
material. Pewter has become a firm favourite in PWS' handle portfolio
and is a trend that is expected to continue.'
The new pewter handles join PWS' 650-strong handle collection which unites
a mix of modern and traditional styles in a vast array of materials and
finishes, from steel, aluminum and chrome through to porcelain and timber.
