New
from Bisque
Petrus
is the latest addition to the Bisque
collection and is also included in the new Svelte range of space-saving
radiators.
Sleek, oval tubes create a smooth, contoured surface for this radiator
which is suitable for all areas.
Petrus (right) is available in tall, slim or compact versions and a choice
of gleaming chrome or aluminium finish. Prices start from £464.00
(inc.Vat).
Radiators
have traditionally been space-hungry, occupying valuabie wall areas. But
modern living demands modern solutions, so Bisque has come up with Svelte,
a new concept in heating.
Bisque's Svelte range of space-saving radiators uses the areas known to
designers as 'dead space' - beside windows, behind doors, between cupboards
- anywhere previously too narrow or awkward to consider. Now you can have
chic heat in the most unexpected places.
To make it easy to reclaim your walls, Bisque has produced a Svelte brochure
with inspirational colour photography of home interiors, demonstrating
practical space-saving ideas and providing details of the product range.
The range offers sixty seven tall and slim options in a wide choice of
colours, and finishes. Some of Bisque's most popular models are included
- together with the newly designed 'Petrus', a gleaming vision of sleek,
vertical contours.
Louvre
(left) is the new feature towel radiator from Bisque. Made from a series
of chrome-plated oval tubes set at a slant, it is a new take on the classic
Bisque towel radiator.
Practical as well as elegant, Louvre has ample space for several towels
and gaps between the tubes for quick drying. It is narrower than the existing
Bow or Straight Fronted models, providing a good choice for small bathrooms
or cloakrooms where space is at a premium.
The slender shape of Louvre is also suitable for the increasingly popular
'his' and 'hers' bathrooms, where identical radiators either side of a
mirror or basin create a harmonious design and a feeling of luxury.
Louvre is available in four sizes in chrome finish.
Sizes: 790mm and 1200mm high and 600mm and 400mm wide in each height.
Price: from £600 (inc.Vat).

Aestus
Launches 'funky and innovative' Collection Inox
Aestus'
new 'Collection Inox' is a range of stainless steel radiators featuring
funky and innovative designs that are suitable for all areas of the home.
The collection comprises six models; Foglia, Line, Vision, Rio, Touch
and Vetro, with a choice of polished or satin finishes for most of the
designs.
The
collection has been created by two well-known ltalian designers: Mariano
Moroni and Paola Pinnavaia. Moroni designed Line, Vision, Rio, Touch and
Vetro, whilst Foglia was the brainchild of Pinnavaia. The designs focus
on contemporary styling combined with organic shapes, resulting in a collection
of radiators that break the boundaries of traditional radiator design.
By going beyond pure functionality, Moroni and Pinnavaia have created
radiators that have become works of art and sculptures in their own right.
Foglia (pictured right)
The cutting edge design of the Foglia, meaning leaf, captures the innocent
beauty of nature. A polished stainless steel tube sweeps vertically through
the middle of the radiator whilst further tubes branch off in opposite
directions on either side, forming an effect reminiscent of veins in a
leaf.
The
Foglia, winner of the LD Magazine Annual besign Award (New York 2001),
should attract the attention of architects and interior designers. Foglia
is available in two sizes; 2100mm x 790mm and 1765mm x 570mm.
Line
(pictured left)
The puristic Line radiator is perfect for contemporary interiors. Line
is manufactured from stainless steel with a satin finish, and is available
with an optional mirror and shelving, making the design even more functional.
The abstract shape of the mirror resembles a 'splash' of water, whilst
the shelving forms a wave effect. Line measures 2000mm x 805mm.
Vision (pictured below right)
The funky Vision radiator is a trendy new addition to Aestus' product
portfolio. Vision is perfect for all living areas of the home, its centrally
positioned mirror is particularly suited to a bedroom or hallway environment.
Two shelves, available as an optional extra, provide aplace to display
ornaments.
Vision is available in one size measuring 1600mm x 1060mm and is manufactured
from satin finished stainless steel.
Rio
The delicate design of the Rio radiator provides subtle elegance to contemporary
surroundings. Rio offers all the style and beauty you would expect from
ltalian design.
Rio
comprises twelve vertical tubes, reminiscent of fine silver thread. The
tubes, although straight at the top and bottom on the radiator, undulate
in the centre, offering an attractive design aspect. Rio is manufactured
from stainless steel and is available in a choice of polished or satin
finishes.
Touch
The distinctive panelled designed of the Touch radiator makes it particularly
suitable for use in well-used areas of the home such as the kitchen or
hallway or for use in an office environment.
Touch comprises seven horizontal panels spaced at intervals along two
vertical struts. A convenient shelf, which sits above the radiator, is
available as an optional extra, priced at £100.00. An extra valve
set is also available at £162.00.
Manufactured from stainless steel, Touch is available in one size, measuring
1653mm x1005mm.
Vetro
The exotic shape of the Vetro adds beauty and interest to any area of
the home. Particulary suited for use within a bedroom or hallway, the
Vetro offers far more than purely the functional aspect of heating the
room. Two mirrors either side of the heating elements are perfect for
dressing whilst the optional shelves offer handy storage space for drying
off towels, or even displaying an Object d'Art.
The sweeping curve of the Vetro emanates a feeling of serenity. The mirror
to the left of the heating elements is cut diagonally across the top whilst
the mirror to the right is cut on the diagonal across the base offering
yet another distinctive design aspect.
Vetro is manufactured from stainless steel, its satin finish offers a
fresh, contemporary feel. Choose from two sizes of 1580 x 1005mm or 1580
x 1125mm.
Collection lnox radiators are compatible with all water circuits.

A
Kitchen Designer's Dream Come True
Myson
has recently launched a towel rail specifically designed for the kitchen
to complement the discreet Kickspace plinth heater. The combined package
removes the need for a kitchen radiator and offers style, dry towels and
instant heat for the whole kitchen.
The two units will not only add an attractive feature, but also free up
valuable space for additional appliances, worktops and storage units.
One half of the inspiration comes from a specially designed compact towel
rail that will fit onto the end of a cupboard run, under the overhang
on an island unit or on any small wall space.
The new kitchen towel rail is called Petite; a compact, low-power electrical
unit, available in a straight or curved design. Petite has a selection
of finishes including chrome, brushed nickel/stainless, traditional or
regal gold as well as a choice of stove-enamelled colours, all of which
allow designers to match other accessories such as taps and sinks.
Petite is a sealed electric unit and works independently of the central
heating system. It is powered by an economical 40w element known as an
APM (AutoPower Management) system.
Typically, the APM element uses less power than a light bulb.
The APM element is self-regulating and uses the most advanced technology
available. When it reaches the required temperature, it reduces power
consumption accordingly. There is no need for a thermostat, as the temperature
rises evenly and stays constant once temperature is reached. For added
safety and peace of mind it is also rated at IP64.
The overall dimensions of both the new designs are approximately 500 mm
x 450.
The Myson Kickspace is designed to fit in the plinth of a kitchen unit
in the run underneath the cupboard doors. With the choice of three fuel
options kitchen designers will always find a suitable model utilising
existing fuel sources and satisfying their heating needs whatever the
size of kitchen.

Traditional
Style, Modern Thinking from Vasco
Alongside popular ranges of ladder style bathroom radiators such Baccara
and Arabis, Vasco has introduced four
new ranges to the portfolio: Stowe, Bibury, Moreton, and Bourton. A brushed
stainless steel range - Malva (pictured) - has also been introduced.
Each
radiator has been individually tailored, offering solutions to specific
style conundrums. Moreton is a wider radiator, able to accommodate all
towel sizes, including the popular bath sheet, while Stowe is a compact
towel stacker, perfect for smaller bathrooms or cloakrooms. Consumers
no longer have to compromise when taking radiators into consideration.
Bibury is a traditional column radiator surrounded by a chrome frame providing
a modern twist to an otherwise conventional style of radiator. The column
comes as standard in a white finish, however it is possible to change
it to blue, green, black or red by special factory order. For consumers
looking for something different from traditional bathroom fittings, this
is a perfect alternative. Colour samples are available on request.
All the new radiators are available in a chrome finish and Bourton is
also available in a high-tech Nickel finish, which is ideal for modern
settings.
The radiators are extremely simple to install and can be applied to all
types of heating systems as they are produced from brass, ensuring they
are corrosion resistant.
The
most recent Vasco line in matt brushed stainless steel gives your towel
radiator extra quality and durability. The stainless steel is brushed
with grain 360. The quality stainless steel is environmentally friendly
and easy to maintain.

New
Industry Standard Welcomed
The
final touches to the new European standard for monitoring radiator outputs
in the UK and Ireland which will go live in July has been welcomed by
contractors.
The standard, BS EN 442, will ensure the industry can make like-for-like
performance comparisons in literature tables for radiators tested in the
UK, Ireland and Europe.
Promoted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and by members of
the Manufacturers Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC), the
standard has been introduced on a phased basis stretching back to July
1997.
A 'programme of communication' to everyone in the industry sector is underway
to ensure that by July 1st, 2003, all contractors are aware of the new
standard, and manufacturers are working to the same specifications.
