Shower Regulator Launch for Pegler Yorkshire

To assist those who want the benefits of a power shower without wasting unnecessary water, Pegler Yorkshire has introduced the shower regulator. In the wake of the success of the Pegler Yorkshire Eco Tap range the company have responded to customer demands once again by introducing a flow regulator suitable for showers.

Showers are now a standard fixture in most homes. They are quicker, more hygienic, and more convenient than a bath and are also usually more environmentally friendly. Running a bath sees the second highest use of energy in the home, but taking a shower instead can save gallons of water.

Showers are generally more environmentally friendly, since a typical five-minute shower uses about 40 litres of water (about half the volume of a standard bath), but a power shower can use up to 20 litres of water per minute and can actually waste more water than a bath!

With water saving at the top of many people's agenda, Pegler Yorkshire is seeing a real demand for restricting water flow in places of shortage or conservation and as such, has identified the need for a product to regulate the flow of water accordingly.

Regulating the flow on shower fittings is ideal, because it does not impact on daily use or the spray pattern, but can make an immediate impact on water conservation.

This new regulator is suitable for all products that have a 1/2 inch BSP male thread and would have a standard hose screwed into it. Installation has been designed to be easy and in most cases the regulator can be fitted after installation of the shower has taken place.

This new shower regulator will hold back the flow of water to a maximum limit of 6 litres per minute no matter what the pressure, although the full benefits will only be seen when installed on higher pressures, when bigger water savings can be made.

‘This product will have a real impact in social housing projects or new build,’ explained Pegler Yorkshire Product Manager Mike Dickinson, ‘In these cases, a good flow is required for bath fill, but restricting the flow on the shower will make a real impact on water saving. This new regulator allows the flow to be restricted on the shower alone, without affecting the flow for bath fill.’

Pegler Yorkshire has a shower portfolio offering a complete range of easy to fit dual control and single sequential showers, in many differing product styles. Single sequential control showers use one 'simple to use' control lever to control the shower temperature. These showers are also thermostatically controlled with factory pre-set maximum temperatures to avoid scalding, making these showers ideal for use by the young, the elderly and the less able.

New Dimension to Zip Domestic Range - Trio

Zip Heaters has enhanced its Domestic Designer Range with the addition of the new Trio tap. The Italian- designed tap offers a facility to mix hot and cold water as well as freshly filtered drinking water, from the same system. Exclusively to Zip, the Trio tap also offers the option for either chilled or ambient filtered drinking water, eliminating the need for the purchase, transportation and storage of bulky, bottled drinking water.

The main mixer spout delivers hot or cold water separately or mixed for delivery at the sink, rotating through 360¾. The filter spout which is able to offer either ambient or chilled filtered drinking water rotates 90¾, offering maximum delivery flexibility.

Stylish in design, the Trio tap is an elegant addition to any kitchen and is available in a polished chrome or brushed nickel finish, to complement the most modern or traditional of kitchens. The Trio is simple to install and requires a 500mm cabinet to house the chiller unit or 100mm width to take the filter only system.

Filtration
The Trio uses triple action, sub micron filtration conforming to NSF standards 42 & 53 filtering out dirt, rust and particulates that may contaminate drinking water. It also removes asbestos fibres and micro organisms such as giardia and cryptosporidium. Whilst it will eliminate the taste and smell of chlorine it does not remove fluoride. The filter is 99.9% effective and provides the end user with reliable healthy drinking water filtered on demand.

Jim Foxall, Managing Director at Zip Heaters explained, ‘The Trio very much complements the Domestic Designer Range in that it offers yet another option for the provision of water for both domestic use and for healthy drinking water. Beautiful and ergonomic in design it enhances any kitchen sink and is simple to install - we're delighted to launch the Trio.’

The Trio is now part of the Zip Domestic Designer Range comprising six products: - a boiling and chilled HydroTap, a boiling only HydroTap, a chilled Trio tap, an ambient Trio tap, a chilled FilterTap and an ambient FilterTap. All products using the same high performance, submicron filtration.

Coram Launches Acora Slimline Shower Tray

Coram Showers has expanded its shower tray range with the introduction of a new, contemporary slimline shower tray. The new tray is available through Coram's retail range, Acora, and offers a minimalist alternative to the company's Waterguard shower tray.

Coram's new slimline shower tray, which is suitable for applications where plumbing can be recessed into the floor, has been specifically designed to complement the contemporary shower enclosure designs in the Acora range. It is constructed using Coratech, a formulation of resin developed by Coram, which makes the tray lighter, yet stronger and more rigid than other resin based trays. In addition, the tray features a special scratch resistant surface, which maintains its high shine finish and ensures long lasting durability.

Commenting on the launch of the Acora slimline tray, Coram's managing director, Peter Dimeloe, said: ‘The Acora range has been specifically developed to offer high performance, luxurious, contemporary shower enclosure designs. The new slimline tray has been designed to enhance their aesthetic appeal, and, in addition to its minimal profile, it features a stylish elliptical design and a 90mm chrome domed trap. Alongside its contemporary design, the new 60mm high slim line tray also provides completely leak free performance. The combination of an Acora enclosure and slimline tray is so watertight that it is backed up by Coram's watertight lifetime guarantee.’

The Acora range features six contemporary enclosure designs including the Bow front, the Walk-in, the Crescent, the Frameless Hinged door, the Pentagon and the Bi-fold. Designed to offer a spacious and luxurious showering experience, each of these stylish enclosures is manufactured using safety glass, the edges of which are rounded and polished. In addition to the new slimline tray, all enclosures in the Acora range can also be installed with Coram's Waterguard showertray.

As well as enclosures, the Acora range also includes a selection of completely leak free bath screens, which are manufactured using toughened safety glass and are available in a chrome finish. The range includes the Sail shape screen, the Folding screen, the Square screen and the Curved screen.

Coram Showers specialises in the design and manufacture of shower enclosures, shower pods, shower trays and bath screens. Special Needs Easily Accommodated

Image Showers' design and manufacturing flexibility is a bonus for any client wanting something a little bit different or an unusual size and this is especially true for anyone looking for special needs enclosures and screens.

Within the Image Showers design portfolio there is an enclosure dedicated to special needs that is a bi-fold half height door, which is purpose made so that a carer can lean over and assist if necessary. It can be fitted with a fixed half height panel or combined with another bi-fold door for dual access. A shower curtain and head rail is included to reduce splashing and aid privacy and a purpose made shower tray is also available with two integral low-sided ramps for easy access.

If there is plenty of space available a double entry walk in shower for a wet room can also be used, which looks good in the modern minimalistic theme. Or a frameless glass panel could be used in a wet room situation and mounted to the wall at a suitable location within the bathroom. Of course with wet rooms becoming very popular, the showering area can now be as big as the room itself. There is no longer the problem of 'I can't get a shower tray or enclosure big enough'; whatever space you have can be the showering area.

As Image Showers has its own manufacturing base in Kilkenny, Ireland it can manufacture to its clients requirements. So any size can be accommodated, if a client would like a glass panel at just 1000mm high this is no problem for the team at Image Showers.

Image Showers offers a high quality service support package on the full range of the company’s shower enclosures and screens, replacement parts, standardised parts, a UK warehouse and a national distributor network, technical telephone pre and post sales advice, and a supporting field sales team.

Coram Launches Acora Walk-In Enclosure

Coram Showers has launched a walk-in shower enclosure design, which is the latest addition to its recently introduced retail range, Acora.

The new Walk-in has been specially developed by Coram to offer stylish, contemporary design, which maximises the showering area to provide a luxurious showering experience for consumers. In addition, this unique enclosure has been designed for both left and right hand installation, which makes stocking and installation much more straightforward.

Coram's new 1,500mm Walk-in enclosure can be installed in both corner and alcove situations. Like all Coram products, the Walk-in from the Acora range has been developed for fast, accurate installation, but cleverly, the tray and glass components of the enclosure can be fitted to create either a left or right hand enclosure. This means that retailers only need to stock one product, which is suitable for any project.

Coram's marketing manager, Charlie Wallis, explained: ‘The biggest problem with many walk-in enclosures currently on the market is that they are difficult and complicated to fit. Also, some have needlessly small showering areas resulting from the inclusion of a drying area. Coram's new Walk-in enclosure has been specifically designed to address these issues and achieve a balance of style and practicality. It is quick and simple to fit, there is only one option for left, right or alcove situations and it maximises the showering area.’

There are two durable, easy clean shower tray options available with the Acora Walk-in enclosure, the contemporary slim-line shower tray and the 220mm high Waterguard shower tray, which features a patent protected Waterguard lip to ensure completely watertight performance. The slim-line tray, which requires plumbing connections to be recessed into the floor, features a stylish minimalist design and a 90mm chrome domed trap. For use in solid floor bathrooms, the standard Waterguard tray, which features a 50mm chrome domed trap, enables the plumbing connections to be concealed beneath the tray.

The combination of the Acora Walk-in enclosure and tray provides a stylish, high performance showering area, which is so effective at preventing leaks that Coram offers a watertight lifetime guarantee.

Coram Showers specialises in the design and manufacture of shower enclosures, shower pods, shower trays and bath screens. The company's current range includes the Premier and Optima ranges of shower enclosures, Waterguard Showertrays, a range of bath screens and the new retail range, Acora. Designed for fast and easy installation, as well as watertight performance, all Coram products are designed and manufactured at the company's Bridgnorth factory in Shropshire and enclosures are power shower tested to BS 6340 against leakage.
