The Maytag Euroline brand features three new freestanding models. These

Gorenje,
the Slovenian manufacturer of domestic appliances, which recently launched
in the UK, has unveiled the K 357/2 Mela fridge freezer equipped with
completely new electronic controls. Its two display units show the interior
temperature of its freezing and cooling compartments with the electronic
controls accurately regulating the pre-set temperatures, regardless of
the ambient temperature, providing the ideal conditions for storing food.
With its metallic finish, mark-resistant stainless steel door and sleek
designer handles, this appliance could become the focal point of any kitchen.
It has a fridge capacity of 211 litres and freezer capacity of 118 litres;
on opening the door the user discovers the brilliant white surface of
the new hygienic interior accessories.
In the fridge, space is utilized by providing liner split shelves in the
door that can be placed at two different levels side by side. This gives
the consumer flexibility in the utilisation of storage space. With its
wipe-clean safety glass shelves and flush back wall, the K 357/2 MELA
fridge freezer maximizes storage space and is easy to clean. The chrome
bottle rack enables easy storage of up to five wine bottles.
In the freezer compartment, four plastic drawers with see-through fronts
enable the user to check the contents easily, without losing cold air
from the freezer.
Despite its usable space of 329 litres, capable of storing the fruits
of a large supermarket shopping trip, the annual electricity consumption
value accounts for 354 kWh, enabling the appliance to achieve 'A' energy
rating and making it economic to run. Its two compressors not only enable
it to operate at lower temperatures but give it added durability.

is the PZ13, which the company says is the largest range cooker on the
market (CDA have also launched a 130cm extractor hood to complement the
range).
The PZ13 comprises; a hob with 6 burners, cast iron pan supports, LPG

has an A energy rating, a grill, defrost function, 35lt capacity and easy-clean

has announced a new, improved Specialist Cooker Hood offer. Along with
a more competitive pricing structure, there is a wider product range including
three different 600mm models. Contemporary and concealed designs in 520,

Designed

is notable for its sense of geometry and gentleness. Built in stainless
steel and anodised aluminium, Concave was conceived as a furnishing item
distinguished by the concave shape of its canopy and cylindrical chimney.
It comes with a 'control ball', a rounded switch that can be used to control
all operational aspects of the hood. Concave was also planned to include
Elica's Optimised Aspiration System which ensures maximum efficiency of
aspiration together with a reduction in noise level and electricity consumption.
The stainless steel grease filter is easy to remove and can be washed
in the dishwasher, as can the long-life odour filter, which lasts for
three years and has only to be popped into the oven for drying. Two ultra-efficient
halogen lights guarantee all-round illumination, so that the hood itself
can be used as a light source.

Launches Built-In into the UK
Slovenian
appliance manufacturer Gorenje has
launched a range of built-in appliances into the UK. The launch follows
a rapid expansion for the company into the UK since its initial launch
last October, with over 350 independent retailers now stocking a wide
range of the company’s free standing products.
The built-in range consists of ovens, hobs, cooker hoods, fridges, fridge-freezers,
freezers and for the first time for Gorenje in the UK market place - a
dishwasher.
Ovens
Gorenje says that its ovens are of the usual high specification that retailers
and consumers expect from the manufacturer. Two models within the range
have Gorenje's triple glazed, ultra cool door (UCD) with heat reflecting
glass and Aqua Clean Programme - these are the B 8980 E (pictured) and
B 8980 models, with a further three models having the Aqua Clean Programme.
All the ovens within the range have glass door panels; electronic timers
with the oven capacity for the single ovens being 56 litres and a number
of them are 'A' energy rated.
Hobs
There are seven hobs available within the range, offering the consumer
the freedom to choose exactly what they need. There's a choice between
glass-ceramic hobs with triple cooking zones to fit any pot or pan, ceramic
hobs, electric solid plate hobs or gas hobs. The GMS 760 E stainless model
has five burners including a wok burner.
Hoods
Gorenje has launched three cooker hoods to accompany the company’s
ovens and hobs: two are 90cm wide, the DKG 915 E and DK 911 E, and the
DK 611 E is 60cm wide. All three are elegantly designed in stainless steel,
with the DKG 915 E in glass and stainless steel; all are super silent
with easy to clean filters, re-circulating or vented operation and featuring
two halogen spotlights.
Refrigeration
Gorenje's entire built-in refrigeration range is A energy rated and can
be fully integrated with kitchen units. The company has included its 'intelligent
door' feature that thinks for itself: if the door is left open at an angle
of less then 20 degrees, a special hinge automatically shuts the door
tightly so that the correct temperature is maintained. This special hinge
also allows you to open the door of the Gorenje refrigeration unit at
an angle of 115 degrees - wider than before, allowing better access and
a better view of what's inside.
There are two fridge freezers within the range: the KIE 267 LA with a
142 litre fridge and 98 litre freezing capacity, the KIE 257 LA (pictured)
offers 176 litre fridge and 69 litres freezing capacity. Both come with
easy to clean glass shelves and salad bins.
Included in the refrigeration range are a built-under fridge RIU 1507
LA with a capacity of 143 litres and three glass shelves, and a built-under
freezer FIEU 107 A with a 96 litre capacity and one fast freeze and two
storage compartments.
Dishwasher
The 'A' energy rated GVI 6520 Gorenje dishwasher has five programmes,
12 place settings and is stainless steel inside with anthracite coloured
baskets.
The appliance is equipped with a diagnostics function that detects faults
and damage automatically and highlights any problem on an easy-to-use
display panel. It has been awarded an 'A' in cleaning performance and
a 'B' for its drying performance.

launched a raft of new concepts in refrigeration in January. The first
to reach the market place is the Maytag Euroline Top Mount range.
Designed to bring Maytag's genuine American brand credentials to the market
in a European format, the new Top Mount refrigeration line is packed with
features, quality and cooling performance. The top mounted fridge freezer
combination features frost and maintenance free operation, 146I freezer
and 311I fridge, multi-airflow system for fast, efficient and even cooling,
chilled zone for meat, fish, poultry and chilled/ready prepared meals.
Maytag's attention to detail and quality are reflected in the intelligent
storage furniture solutions to ensure the stable storage of goods such
as deep door storage with utility, egg and bottle management, the transparent

While
most of us would agree that having a good hood extractor is an essential
item in the kitchen, none of us like the noise they make. After research,
and product development, appliance manufacturer CDA,
has launched what the company believes to be the quietest extractors on
the market.
The Z9 and Z10 Picazzo super silent extractors differ only in size, the
Z9 being 90cms and the Z10 100cms. The 'super silent' motor is designed
in such a way as to produce the same decibel level on maximum setting
as other manufacturers' models have on their minimum setting. CDA says
that the first setting is virtually impossible to hear, the second and
third speeds a gentle rustle. The Z9 and Z10 also have a four speed setting,
a feature which is unusual, since ordinarily a fourth speed on a conventional
extractor motor would produce an unbearable noise.

'A' energy rated cooker at that time into the UK market place. The company
says that sales have been strong and above expectations, with Gorenje

The hob, which is simple to control and clean, consists of three traditional
gas burners and a 'wok' gas burner. The 'wok' burner has a double flame
circle that provides additional power to heat the pan from all sides.
All of the burners are protected so that water, grease or messy spillages
won't encroach on the vital working parts, but if the need arises, the
burners can easily be removed for cleaning.
The interior of the oven is coated with EcoClean enamel, which reflects
heat instead of absorbing it. Heat is therefore spread evenly throughout
the oven, offering good baking and cooking results combined with lower
energy consumption. EcoClean enamel also makes cleaning the oven much
easier as grease and dirt don't stick as easily. The oven is quickly cleaned,
by simply pouring half a litre of tap water into the baking pan, switching

Gorenje,
the Slovenian appliance manufacturer, has launched its range of Alux appliances,
which the company says are a combination of functionality, advanced technical
solutions and elegance. Their appearance is created by using anodised
aluminium, which helps prevent fingermarks.

to give a smooth appearance, keeping them out of reach of children and
making the oven easier to clean. There are two ovens within the range:
the B9000 AL and B8980 AL (pictured). Both have Gorenje's triple glazed,
ultra cool door (UCD) with heat reflecting glass and Aqua Clean Programmes
- both are A energy rated.
Hobs
The Alux hobs range has double and triple extended heating areas adapted
to different pan sizes. This type of directional heating increases the
energy efficiency of the cooking surface. Alux hobs feature touch controls
for ease of use. They also feature a safety lock and warning lights indicating
whether or not the heating areas are still hot. There are two hobs in
the range: the ECT 780 AL and ECT 680 E.
Hoods
The cooker hood is the first thing you notice in an Alux kitchen. There
are two hoods within the range: the KD 916 AL and DK 944 AL. Both can
be used in either vented or re-circulating modes, are quiet to use and
have metal grease filters that are easy to remove and clean. They have
washable carbon filters that absorb cooking smells while twin halogen
lights provide ample illumination.
Microwave Décor Door
You can conceal your microwave oven in a kitchen cabinet, thanks to the
Alux microwave door cover. It is coated with anodized aluminium that blends-in
with the overall appearance of the kitchen. Aluminium complements all

Refrigeration
The high-tech Alux fridge freezer ensures constant temperature control
and the digital display is accurate to the nearest degree. The flashing
indicators warn of undesirable temperature changes and there are two warning
signals for additional peace of mind. The first sounds if the refrigerator
door is open for more than a minute while the second warns of a rise in
the interior temperature of the freezer.
The K357/2 AL Alux fridge-freezer (pictured left) is 'A' energy rated
and features a silver interior. Space at the back of each shelf allows
cold air to circulate evenly inside the cooling compartment. There is
also a special circulating fan beneath the fridge ceiling for improved
cooling, and a chrome wine rack that can store five bottles of wine.
The Alux freezer compartment features, as standard, two special cooling
accumulators. There is a fast-freeze zone and the latest plastic freezer
drawers, which can be more practical than conventional net baskets. The
ergonomically designed door handles add to the attractive appearance of
the appliance.
Washing
The Alux washing machine WA 162 AL electronic display shows each phase
of the washing cycle, the amount of water used, spin speed and how much
moisture the clothing still contains at the end of the wash. It also offers
a broad selection of washing programmes. The machine automatically gauges
the amount of clothing being washed and adjusts the volume of water and
spinning power accordingly. The appliance is 'AAA' energy rated.
Dryer
The Alux WT 941 AL condenser dryer, features electronic indicators for
the simultaneous monitoring of drying progress and moisture content. The
multiple programme settings allow you to dry your clothes as desired and
ensure that they remain in good condition.
The alternating rotation of the drum prevents tangling of the clothes
and the design complements the appearance of the Alux washing machine.
It is 'B' energy rated.
