Unique
Slide Control for Siemens' New Ceramic Hob Range
Domestic
appliance manufacturer Siemens has
invented another first for the company: a new range of ceramic hobs with
a totally unique slide control mechanism.
The 'touchSlider' hob range by Siemens operates simply by using a finger
to glide across the control. This activates the appropriate power level
to heat up the selected zone. Direct access is also possible by touching
the panel.
There are five models in the new range, two of which are standard 'quick-lite'
ceramic hobs (ET 76S502E + ET 78S502E) and the other three are induction
models (EH 77S501E, EH 78S502E & EH 95S501E). Width sizes include
60cm, 80cm and 90cm models and all five models provide four cooking zones
with an extra zone on the top of the range 90cm model EH 95S501E.
All five new hobs have discreet front mounted touch controls for ease
of operation. The two 60cm wide models include a monoSlider control for
all four zones while the two 80cm and one 90cm model all provide multiSlider
operation using a separate slider for each of the four or five zones.
There is a choice of 17 temperature settings on each new ceramic hob to
accommodate all top-of-stove culinary requirements.
A Control Panel Pause function on all five models 'freezes' the hob settings
to allow the control panel to be wiped over & cleaned during use.
Other notable features applicable to all five new appliances include an
LED display & timer for all cooking zones with a switch off function
and acoustic signal, two-stage residual heat indicators for each zone
to let you know whether they are above or below 50°C, an automatic
safety cut out, a child lock and emergency stop facility.
The three induction models incorporate a useful boost function for all
zones and 90cm wide induction model EH 95S501E also offers a powerful
4.4kW superBoost function for the central zone to enable high speed cooking.
All five new touchSlider models display a facetted front edge design with
stainless steel side trims to blend in with other Siemens cooking appliances.
