Multi Talented New Dishwasher Star from Neff

New from Neff is model S5409, a multi talented, triple ‘A’ rated, fully integrated dishwasher offering flexibility for the user in the choice of programmes, temperatures - and even languages.

This top-of-the-range model is designed to make washing up easier and more pleasurable than ever before. From its automatic electronic programming operation to its ten foldable plate racks and divided ‘Duo’ cutlery basket, everything about this appliance has been developed with ease of use in mind.

Thanks to adjustable baskets & plate racks plus multi programme facilities, all types of crockery and cutlery can be well catered for. Programme choices on the S5409 include an intensive wash for heavily soiled items and a delicate wash for more gentle action. There’s also a quick wash option when time is of the essence and a reduced time option if required.

What’s more, if combined detergents are being used, you can take full advantage of the Auto 3-in-1facility, which automatically adjusts itself to the multi phase products for better drying results, even in hard water areas.

Other notable features built-in to this new 12 place setting model are a special knife rack in the upper basket, large item spray head, OptoSensor for water hardness control, top fill detergent dispenser and the Aqua stop system for water safety and peace of mind.

Energy saving is another special feature of the S5409. Inclusion of a Hydro Sensor means a significant reduction in water & energy consumption and a built-in heat exchanger utilises heat generated in the first wash cycle to heat the water for subsequent rinse cycles, requiring no additional energy.

Furthermore, the S5409 is an elegant appliance with a concealed touch control glass fascia on the inside of the door and a low noise level of only 44 decibels.
This triple ‘A’ rated model integrates with any kitchen scheme as it accepts a full furniture door. It is fully adjustable between 810mm and 870mm to accommodate all worktop heights.

Powerful Performance from New ‘Turbo’ Dishwasher

New from built-in kitchen appliance manufacturer, Gaggenau is the GI 416, a powerful, high performance dishwasher which the company says has faster wash times than ever before.

There is a choice of six alternative programmes on the 12- place setting GI 416, including three with a reduced time option. This means that, however dirty the dishes, the 60cm wide GI 416 power washer promises to clean and dry them in double quick time.

To achieve this, the normal ‘Eco’ setting is combined with the special ‘Turbo’ function to deliver results in less than an hour. Furthermore, the inclusion of condensation drying produces an additional advantage by drying the crockery extra quickly for rapid re-use.

All the wash programmes on this model feature an ‘Aqua sensor’ function, which decides the duration of the wash cycle depending on the level of soiling and the size of the load.

What’s more, the GI 416 is a particularly energy efficient appliance with a triple ‘A’ rating for wash, dry and energy performance so there are significant savings to be made across the board when using this powerful new machine.

The speed and power of this new dishwasher makes it a good choice for those who cook and entertain on a regular basis. Being a very quiet machine (only 44 decibels), it can even be switched on during the meal and then re-activated again later to complete the washing up by the end of the evening.

Internally, the GI 416 offers features including alternate fold down spines and adjustable baskets to accommodate larger plates and crockery, when required.
The GI 416 is a fully integrated model with a height of 86cms for taller worktops. It is designed to blend in with the chosen furniture units to create an individual finish for the kitchen. This model is also available as the GI 406 with an adjustable height of 81cms.

Zanussi-Electrolux, Cookers for all Occasions

Zanussi-Electrolux, part of the world's largest producer of powered appliances for kitchen, cleaning and outdoor use, has launched a new range of cookers which the company says will suit everyone across the group's broad customer base.

Ralph Olingschlager- Category Product Manger for freestanding cooking comments: 'The freestanding cooking market is changing in structure. Having reached the peak of the replacement cycle last year we are now seeing a definite change in what consumers want from a freestanding cooker. Zanussi-Electrolux has reacted positively to this by creating products to accommodate every customer need.'

90cm Range Cooker ZCM930X
(pictured)
Retailers will now be able to provide consumers who have larger families with an appliance which has a greater cooking capacity. This product offers the consumer both gas and electric power and has a stylish modern design in keeping with today's stylised demands.

Ralph goes on to say: 'Range cookers are fast becoming the 'must have' appliance for many new kitchens. As range cookers are a 'lifestyle' statement and the look is everything, more consumers are turning to the stainless-steel 'professional' models in contrast to the traditional style cookers'.

The ZCM930X has five gas burners including a Triple Crown wok burner. The Electric oven features an electronic clock and programmable timer for precision cooking. This model also has an easy clean interior making cleaning less strenuous for the consumer.

The ZCM930X features the Thermaflow system to ensure the oven is at a uniform temperature throughout. This means that the oven will heat up faster and can cook at lower temperatures than conventional ovens.

This oven is rated D for energy.

60cm Double Oven ZCM7902X
The ZCM7902X is part of the Axxis range of cookers, which feature dials angled towards the user, enabling a better view of and access to the oven and hob controls. The hob has four gas burners including one Rapid burner and cast iron pan supports.

Ralph Olingschlagar comments: This cooker is a perfect example of how Zanussi-Electrolux have reacted to consumer needs. Changing the angle of the controls seems so simple, yet is still an innovative approach to modern cooker design.'

The cooker itself features an electronic clock and fully programmable timer, enabling the consumer to have complete cooking control. As with the ZCM930X model, cleaning this product is not difficult. The oven has catalytic linings throughout. The linings absorb fat splashes and then burn them away at high temperatures, a great selling point for the group's Business Development Managers.

Both ovens have been rated A for energy. This model is also available in both gas and electric formats.

50cm Electric Cooker ZCE5001X
This cooker illustrates the current trend in compact living. At only 50cm wide, the ZCE5001X has all the features you would normally expect on a full size oven. It has four ceramic hob zones and a variable grill. The main oven features a defrost function that circulates air at room temperature around the food, allowing it to defrost gently.

The ZCE5001X has an electronic timer appealing to a time and space saving consumer.

60cm Cooker with Single Pyrolytic Oven ZCE651X
The ZCE631X has a futuristic design, complemented by features such as the Pyrolytic heat clean function, which burns away any dirt inside the oven.

Ralph Olingschlagar comments:
'User relevant innovation is what the new Zanussi pyrolitc cookers are about. Not suprisingly our research has found that cleaning the oven is one of the least favourite household tasks. The Pyrolitic oven cleaning system featured on these new Zanussi cookers will be a fantastic time saver for many consumers. After the pyro cycle has run, the oven cavity needs simply to be given a gentle wipe with a damp cloth and the cooker will look like new.'

The hob has four ceramic zones, which are easy to clean and control and a multi function grill. The ZCE651X model also features Thermaflow - enabling the consumer to create perfectly cooked dishes every time.

The ZCE651X is also A rated for energy.

To add contemporary style to any kitchen, the freestanding cooker range has one distinct, sleek look and is available in stainless steel, black or white finishes and across all fuel options. For all-important clean-ability, all of the ovens incorporate Stoves easy-to-clean Pristine® enamel. Exclusive to Stoves products, Pristine

A four-burner hob appears on the gas and dual fuel models with a ceramic hob on the electric version and, for added safety, the dual fuel and gas models have a glass lid with SBS cut-off when the lid is accidentally shut with a burner still switched on.

Lofra Uncovers Exclusive New Hood Collection

Lofra, the Italian range cooker manufacturer, has launched an exclusive range of island cooker hoods.

The 90cm height-adjustable chimneys have been designed to complement traditional and contemporary kitchen furniture and have extraction powers of 680m3/h.

Chris Rogers, sales and marketing director for Lofra UK, commented: 'As the kitchen has become a room where we now work, live and entertain, we have had to place more emphasis on the quality of extraction and our latest models ensure odours and steam are removed as efficiently as possible.'

The Cristal Around cooker hood combines high quality stainless steel with the added elegance of pure crystal, curved glass, suitable in a modern or traditional kitchen, while the simple geometric lines of the Square Around add a finishing touch for a more minimalistic look.

Chris added: 'Extraction hoods were once regarded as a functional kitchen appliance but as the cooker has become a focal point of the kitchen, the hood has also become a design feature in its own right.'

Classic Elegance from Miele

Classic design and modern ventilation technology are combined on a new series of Miele cooker hoods, available in various widths as wall-hung units or for island installation.

Models from the DA 39x and DA 40x series demonstrate the impact of minimalistic design. The most noticeable characteristic of these new machines is the stainless-steel canopy which appears to float above the hob unit. The stainless-steel chimney section on the new wall and island canopies is height-adjustable. This allows the height of the canopy above the worktop to be adjusted to within a centimeter.

'These new Miele cooker hoods excel in terms of air throughput and noise emissions. Wall hood models from the DA 40x range, in particular, are among the quietest on the market.' says the company. The power and lighting controls on all units have been integrated into the front edge of the canopy to make them easily accessible and to protect them against grease splashes. Halogen downlighting is used on all models to illuminate the hob unit below.

Customers have a choice of two versions, whereby the DA 40x series offers several additional convenience features compared with the DA 39x series. These include a light dimmer for hob downlighting, the use of LED grease and active charcoal filter indicators and the option of selecting run-on times when cooking has ended. These units can also be retrofitted with a control module allowing operation in combination with a window contact switch or air inlet fan. This integrated module can also be used to operate hood lighting from a light switch next to the door.

Wall hoods from the DA 39x series are available in widths of 60 and 90 cm. DA 40x series models for wall installation come in widths of 60, 70, 90 and 120 cm. There are also two island canopies (90 and 100 cm).

Perfect Conditions for Storing Fine Wines

Miele's new KWT 4154 UG wine cooler is extremely versatile: The appliance features two separate temperature zones to ensure red, rosé and white wine can all be served at just the right temperature. The temperature in each zone can be individually and precisely selected between 5°C and 18°C with a rule of thumb as follows: White wine or rosé is served between 7°C and 12°C, red wine develops its bouquet best at temperatures between 15°C and 18°C.

Besides cooling wines ready to drink, the appliance offers ideal conditions for long-term storage of a good vintage to allow it to mature. It is essential that all external influences are eliminated during the maturing process. In a Miele wine cooler, for example, humidity levels remain consistently high to ensure that corks are kept moist. A ventilator ensures that air is circulated in each zone and, together with an active charcoal filter, provides an ideal climate free from unpleasant odours and other outside influences. The wine cooler door is tinted, tempered glass which provides a view of the wine stored, but, at the same time, offers protection against harmful UV light.

The wine cooler is designed as a built-under appliance which fits into any style of existing kitchen. The integrated grip recess also blends with the handles of adjacent units. Plinth height can be adjusted to suit a niche height of between 82 and 87 cm.

The wine cooler can accommodate up to 40 (0.75 l Bordeaux) bottles. Wine bottles rest on acacia wood racks with telescopic runners. Additional features include interior lighting and electronic temperature displays for each zone.

Belling Launches New DB Style

Range cookers are making a big impact in the new and replacement cooker markets, and as cooking appliance manufacturer, Belling, launches its two new db1000 and db900 range cookers, the company says that this trend is set to continue.

Combining ergonomic design with the latest technology and practical functions, the two new db collections update Belling's popular db2, db3, db90 and db92 models. The db1000 100cm range cookers feature the clean lines of stainless steel, while the 90cm db900's are available in sleek black with stainless steel handles.

Both of the new db ranges are available as dual fuel (DF) models, and with the increased demand for electric versions, Belling has introduced all-electric db1000E and db900E options. The db1000 collection also has an all-gas (G) version.
Both db's have two ovens and an integral grill. The DF and E models incorporate a large electric 55 litre multifunction oven and a second conventional electric oven, and the db1000G version has two conventional gas ovens.

The gas and dual fuel models feature five gas burners, including two wok burners, with three cast iron pan supports that fit perfectly onto an easy-clean, one-piece hob area. The electric version has a ceramic hob incorporating four Fastlite elements that heat up at speed alongside a warming zone.

On the ergonomic front, easy grip control knobs and sleek curved handles add to the aspirational feel while both oven doors are side opening to allow straight forward viewing of both ovens at the same time. Cookclean liners feature in both ovens ensuring that they clean themselves at temperatures over 220ºC.

Jane Rylands, marketing services manager for Belling, comments: ‘We had very clear aims when we started to develop the db900 and db1000 models - design, usable function and quality. Belling is continuously looking to refresh the range cooker market and when designing the db900 and 1000, we listened to the practical features that customers really want from a range cooker and incorporated them into two very different, but equally striking, models.’
