Reaches a New High with the LiftMatic Oven from Nicholas Anthony
When
is an oven not an oven? When it's a lift: the world's first oven with
a built in lift is now available from kitchen designer, Nicholas
Anthony.
Called
'LiftMatic' and manufactured by Siemens, the new £1,200 oven is
based on the revolutionary concept of a wall-mounted oven with a built-in
lift. Just press a button to open and close, raise or lower it. The lift
function allows the user access to the food from three sides, without
doors or handles getting in the way, which means there is no risk of touching
any hot surfaces.
What's more, the 'LiftMatic' system is more energy efficient than traditional
ovens, as the rising heat remains trapped within the oven so it can't
possibly escape.
Powered by an electric motor, the principle of the 'LiftMatic' system
is similar to that of an electric car window. For safety, there is an
automatic cut out mechanism if the appliance recognises an obstruction,
again in a similar way to a car window. The user can choose the most suitable
installation position to ensure a clear view into the oven and the lift
platform can be lowered to the most comfortable level for each person.

Stain Removal for New Siemens Laundry
Arriving
in the UK this autumn (October) is an entirely new line up of freestanding
laundry appliances from kitchen appliance manufacturer, Siemens.
There
are four newly designed freestanding washing machines in the 2006 range,
namely models WM14S493GB, WM16S493GB, WM16S794GB & WM16S794GB, each
with a double 'A' rating for energy & wash performance in addition
to a top 'A+' rating for energy efficiency.
All four models are finished in white and incorporate an extra large 7kg
(15lbs) capacity with larger doors to accommodate more laundry in each

Premium Hob Tops Miele's Range
Miele
has introduced a new, top-of-the-range model into its series of induction
hobs. The KM 5773 features five induction rings, including a new 28 cm
cooking zone, and a sophisticated range of cooking and safety functions,
operated via Miele's ComfortControl Plus sensor controls.
This
premium model is highly adaptive to individual cooking preferences and
features a sophisticated memory function which can be used to store up
to five frequently used cooking sequences, saving time and ensuring consistently
great results. Additionally, a number of standard settings can be modified
to meet individual requirements. These include timer and power range settings,
audible tones and operation of the safety lock.
A special feature of the KM 5773 model is the ComfortControl Plus system,
which enables the selection of individual functions and heat levels simply
by touching the sensor controls. Each control has both a light-ring and
digital display, allowing users to see at a glance which zones are active.
The 28 cm diameter induction zone is currently the largest available on
the market and is ideal for woks, paella or crepe pans, and other large
cooking pots. However, because induction technology automatically detects
pan size, only the hob surface in contact with the pan is active so no
energy is wasted if a smaller pan is used.
Each induction zone features its own booster function which provides an
initial burst of power over a short period, to provide a rapid increase
in temperature and ensure minimum heating times.
Zones can be individually programmed to switch off automatically after
a fixed period of time and a safety function ensures that the induction
rings will also turn-off automatically if over-heating occurs.
A 'Stop and Go' function, when activated, automatically reduces all active
zones to the lowest temperature setting, enabling the user to suspend
cooking for a brief period in order to take a phone call or answer the
door, for example.

Dietrich Launches the Hercules Range Dishwashers with Unique Innovations
De
Dietrich has announced the launch of its new Hercules range
of built-in dishwashers, which feature a new internal structure to ensure
the best performance, the most efficient energy usage and great wash and
dry results.
The triple A rated models share certain features, such as ICS (intelligent
control system), low water consumption and a new internal design, which
allows for bigger plates and stemmed glasses to be successfully stored
and cleaned.
The structure of the new machines features a hydraulic circuit which uses
shorter pipes to minimise water consumption and a low noise pump that
ensures the machines are ultra quiet at all times (43 - 48 dB (A)). It
also features a new patented spray arm design known as the Aquajet Triple
Spray Arm, with crossed rotational jets on each arm and six spraying levels,
for more intensive and efficient cleaning of dishes, glasses and pans.
The improved diffusion of the water allows for excellent wash results
and can be extremely powerful or, conversely, extremely gentle, dependent
on which programme is being used.
The roof of the cavity features a plasma coating, a concept which has
been historically used in the design of cars and boats. This allows for
faster water flow, leaving little to no residue. Turbo ventilation, available
in the DVH640J, top of the range model, is an accelerated drying method
where steam is totally absorbed and barely a trace of humidity is left
in the machine. These factors ensure excellent drying results at the end
of each cycle.
The design of Hercules dishwashers emphasises new concepts both externally
and within. For the first time, the range features touch controls on the
door, with a digital display on the fascia, and these make the dishwasher
technology all the more easy to use and understand.
The upper basket in the two 60cm models has a patented pyramid design
called ESPACE, which provides the best configuration for loading, and
includes new stemmed glass supports. A new versatile height adjustment
system gives 5cm of movement which means it can accommodate much bigger
items (up to 32cm) beneath. The lower basket features an ergonomic handle
and new telescopic sliding rails: these are fully extendable to allow
the easy removal of pans and plates, and unlike the usual castor versions,
are much easier to retract into the machine. Also new, are foldable racks
for bigger dishes, which are handy for fashionably large dinner plates.
Both dishwashers feature two cutlery baskets together with a moveable
satellite basket in the upper rack, for smaller, more difficult items
to clean and access such as potato peelers and teaspoons.
New programmes in the Hercules top of the range model include a CRYSTAL
programme specially dedicated to delicate wine glasses and champagne flutes.
This works at 45º, with a final rinse at a low temperature to ensure the
delicate items are not bleached by corrosion and are glistening when removed.
The powerful BOOST programme is designed for ultra dirty dishes and pans;
the first dedicated programme for cleaning PANS on the market. Using a
50º prewash, and a 70º intensive wash, followed by a hot rinse, the 80%
increased water pressure from the Triple Aquajet spray arm ensures the
most efficient wash cycle.
Both dishwashers in the Hercules range now feature ICS (intelligent control
system) as standard. This is where the dishwasher will do all the work
and choose all the parameters; saving time and effort for the user. The
dishwashers have patented pressure sensors that assess the quantity and
level of dirt on the dishes, will calculate the optimal consumption level
of detergent and water, set the correct temperature and washing time and
validate the result to ensure the best performance at the lowest cost.
As dishwasher tablets are gaining popularity over liquid detergent and
powder, both De Dietrich Hercules dishwashers feature a special 'Multitab
4-in1' option, to obtain the optimum performance when using this type
of detergent for any programme used in the machine. As the dispenser is
situated directly beneath the front water intake, it also allows for a
more accurate distribution of the tablet throughout the wash cycle.
As with all De Dietrich products, safety is of key importance and these
dishwashers offer peace of mind with Aquasafe Safety (anti - overflow
and anti - leak) or Aquabloc Safety (anti-overflow, anti-leak, anti pipe
burst and electrical water intake cut off).
